Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

M;lking the fandom because they have no other personality than consuming our media was a tactic that worked for a long time. They seem to have finally pushed things to far and the fanbases, finally, aren't having it.
I think the issue is how the Hollywood isn't just m!lking the audience, but how it doesn't release anything original nowadays. It's all sequel garbage now.

I'm sorry, what? Darth Moomin?

MOONMAN, MOONMAN, CAN'T YOU SEE? TUMBLR AND SUES NEED TO HANG FROM TREES.

I said earlier in the thread that I fear that the fact that our culture seems to be dying could be a sign that civilization itself is on the verge of some apocalyptic scale event.

I still fear that could be the case, but now I'll share an optimistic view, maybe this is something that needed to happen because what we really need is new stuff, all these franchises need to die so that pop culture can be revived like a phoenix from the ashes and we can get a new generation of new franchises to become the future classics.

I totally understand why it's been hard for our society to let this stuff go, Terminator, Alien, Star Wars and so on and so on, it was all fucking great, but that stuff had it's day and it's time to do what culture has always done and that's take inspiration from the past but transmute it into something new, that's just the natural way things go, what we're doing today is artificially trying to continue these franchises on and on and on and it's no wonder they run out of steam, you don't even need this modern "woke" culture to ruin things, things can get creatively bankrupt and shitty without bringing politics into the mix.

It's just bad storytelling to drag something out, all good stories have endings.

Again, I understand how hard it can be to let the past go, but we're almost 20 years into the 21st century, it's time to let this century have it's own stuff instead of trying to desperately recapture the magic of the late 20th.

Yes, I appreciate the irony that TLJ's message of "let the past die, kill it if you have to" wasn't actually wrong, which the movie itself demonstrated by being so shitty.

Things will burn themselves out and something new will be born, and the previous champions who have the ability to will assert themselves. The fact that the new Rambo movie (A) fucking exists, and (B) is fucking good is testament to this, as is the fact that the Bill and Ted movie is actually moving forwards. What do you know, making movies that people actually want to see is profitable.

Eventually, shit will work itself out. Honestly seeing Disney get its ass glazed for a bit is nothing but good for the industry.

Nice to see another glass half full person on the web.

So, apparently at one point, there were rumors Galaxy's Edge might turn into an Aladdin land?

There are rumors, but if it happens, I actually think it’ll do better because not only do you have the legacy of the 1992 film but the recent live action version was also liked by the public despite the mixed reviews from critics.

So, apparently at one point, there were rumors Galaxy's Edge might turn into an Aladdin land?
Yeah. The rumor came from the mother of one of the park's employees who also turned out to be right about employee layoffs. But even so its best to take her claim with a grain of salt since a big revisionism like that would be a far heftier and difficult decision than employee layoffs. Although to be fair, I could totally see Galaxy's Edge as a potential Agrabah. Even the Merchant's Row looks surprisingly middle eastern since the park designers even said they based it off a bazaar they visited in the middle east.

Also, speaking of GE, it turns out that the Mara Jade graffiti at Galaxy's Edge was "false". Its believed that a guest did it but an employee could've also been responsible since the writing is way too precise. It was confirmed false by that turbofag Matt Martin on Twitter.

The claim that it was actually a guest who did it comes from Wookieepedia's own Lucasfilm employees, Lewisr and another guy who I've mentioned before in this thread but not by name. His name is apparently MasterFred.
They said it was a guest on Mara Jade's talk page where MasterFred finally reveals what he does at GE. Despite bragging about his position it turns out he's just a janitor.

That's actually pretty relieving, the temptation for some woke nu-Wars writer to racebend her into a strong WoC that has nothing to do with the old Mara to get asspats for pissing off the toxic nerds even more would've been too strong.

StarWarsGate when?

And does that mean we can start saying Brianna Wu looks like the Emperor?

Other M was one fucking thing that has been quietly forgotten by Nintendo.
What would you consider Federation Force to be in this case?

Don't get me wrong, Samus Returns was great and seeing Ridley in Smash Bros was awesome, but most of the 2010s were not kind to Metroid. At least there's Metroid Prime 4 to look forward to, poor Star Wars is still stuck in a rough patch for the foreseeable future.

Definite form over functionality design this

The "form over functionality" wouldn't be an issue (let's be honest, that's true for absolutely everything in SW), but the "form" is just not very good. It's a really lame copy of the Speederbikes, only they slapped a useless track on it and set that thing up in a desert instead of a forest.
20% different from the original, that counts as OC!

I sort of hope that with the massive amounts of IPs that Disney now owns, finally other movie makers are forced to come up with something new.

We're not out of the woods on that one, though. This Mara-Jade-Grafitti incident could put her on the screen of these spiteful bastards.
"So, they really like this Mara Jade character? Let's give them a Mara Jade... and she'll be perfect! She'll be strong* and magnificent, she'll look like a 5 ton shithouse made of bricks, she'll constantly prove herself**! See how the old fans will like that!"

Based Disney slighting society's prejudice against queer homosexual bird/pigbat couples;

https://www.theguardian.com/film/20...istance-has-openly-gay-characters-disney-says

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowb...n-characters-Orka-Flix-openly-gay-couple.html

“I think it’s safe to say they’re an item,” Ridge said when asked about the characters’ relationship. “They’re absolutely a gay couple and we’re proud of that.”

Fans, as usual, were light years ahead of the curve, and had assumed the characters were a couple after an episode in the first season of the show, Dangerous Business, in which Flix and Orka headed off to visit Flix’s mother, bearing a case of flowers.

'I have had a sentence prepared for a year and a half,' Moynihan said, 'If someone would finally ask me, I would say, "All I can say is that when Flix says I love you, Orka says I know." They’re the cutest.'

Not surprised they would pull a publicity stunt like this. I talked about these two obnoxious fucks before and how the writers would likely and eventually use them to claim they're a couple to try and gain woke points to save their dying show while not having the balls to actually go through with showing it on their crappy cartoon.

Also, I thought reception would be more offended considering the ugly owl is such an over the top stereotype, but that's probably not too surprising since nobody actually watches this show and I like how even the article mentions that Resistance isn't popular at all. I also like how they and nu-fans ignore Chuck Wendig's contributions to the Alphabet community via his books and the contributions from the appropriately titled and crappy Alphabet Squadron book that came out some months ago that hardly anyone read.
>First in the universe
Not that I'm shilling for her or anything, but Karen Traviss beat you all to the punch ages ago, you Disney plebs.

On a somewhat related note, its through these fuckers that we find out that under Disney canon, droids can eat, drink and get drunk, even if they have no mouths in an attempt to try and explain why 3PO wasn't allowed in the cantina in ANH to avoid any racism parallels via droid discrimination.

how does this help?
"Watch our show! PLEASE! We're hip and inclusive! Please give us good reviews!" Something along that line of thought is what the showrunners are probably thinking. They know their shitty show is doomed no matter what they do. Spinoffs and toys got cancelled, decaying ratings, show has nothing but lackluster reviews with the only positive ones being on RT and barely being able to get past 10 words or so at most, budget issues, losing the rights to use BB-8 and Poe which were the only things that attracted Disneyfags, and now they're only given one more season to tie everything up on a lackluster budget, and they know no one will even remember them or this show in either a good or bad light in the years to come. Hell even TFA and TLJ will be remembered as a knockoff and a clusterfuck respectively and as a reminder of how not to handle a franchise, but no one will be talking about Resistance for any reason whatsoever as it has literally nothing to offer for better or worse, so they want to at least go down by falsely claiming they're the first "progressive" piece of SW media. The absolute state.

Probably said this earlier in the thread, but they shouldn't have bothered making the show, especially since the conflict's like a goddamn albatross hanging on its neck. Imagine if they devoted the resources and budget to the new Clone Wars season instead, we could've had more episodes made (yes, I know not everyone here's a fan of the show or Filoni, but would that really be any worse than two seasons of those spazes?).
