Ahhh... The old "we don't have problems with hugs, he just needed to ask for and gain consent" excuse. This continued argument has always been idiotic and is still idiotic. Have I received uncomfortable hugs from people I didn't know too well in life? Yes. Did they ask for consent? No. Does that make it assault? No. Does that make me a victim? Fuck no.
The thing these weirdos love to overlook is that INTENT matters. The weird hugs I have received in the past are from people I knew didn't MEAN to make me feel awkward. For example, I go above and beyond for a client at work and they are just so GRATEFUL for my help, that they hug me. Hugs are a way to show thanks. Vic is just showing gratitude towards his fans. He has NO INTENT to HARM ANYONE. This is extremely important. None of these people say they came up to Vic and told him they have boundary issues... cause that changes his intent. If you tell someone you don't like being touched and they continue to touch you anyway... NOW you have an argument that they are harassing you.
Why are these people so devoid of love and caring in their lives that they see the most harmless of acts as something so extreme. Fucking weirdos.

MBA is a spineless fence rider. He's nice to Nick's face but repeatedly takes jabs at him behind his back. He has a seething jealousy/hatred for Nick but know's he can't do anything about it. MBA likes to attack people he perceives as weak, like Hero Hei but becomes an ass kisser when dealing with someone who can shout him down. IMO he's worse than Perfection, because at least Perfection would stand by what he says, no matter how stupid it was.

Oh yeah, didn't some crazy fangirl hand him an envelope at a convention and it had a lock of her hair in it? Apparently that was one of the strangest/oddest encounters he had--but it might've been the one he was willing to talk about if only because it had happened during a panel and there were voice-actors who witnessed it. I wish I can remember the video where he talked about it, the whole room had that "cringe-laugh" (I dunno how else to describe it) when he said it.

The irony of their beliefs is that Vic is more talented than most VAs in the Funimation clique. This was very apparent when Vic was on Doug TenNaple's stream, not even 10 minutes into it.

oh boy how do I TLDR this.
Chupp treated a TCPA hearing as a trial and ty was not prepared for that, chupp fucked up the hearing so badly that if neither party settles, they can both appeal on good grounds.Vic is faring fine according to @Svetlana
tomorrow is mediation and chupp will be doing his final ruling friday.
There is no unbiased news source so far.
EDIT: And to reply more specifically...
Vic didn't show at the TCPA hearing, but only the lawyers are expected at such a hearing. Ron wasn't there either. Not sure if a Funi representative was there.
Jamie's lawyer did the best. Funi's lawyer did good too. Ty screwed up in the first half by misreading Chupp. Lemoine presentation was a trashfire (literally).
People are mad at Chupp for asking more that a prima facia case and starting to dig into the evidences (which should not be done at a TCPA hearing, that's a trial thing).
Chupp dismissed the civil conspiracy for everyone but Monica and Ron, dimissed the TI as a whole, and dismissed defamation for Jamie. Everything else is still up in the air.
Meanwhile, he ordered everybody (including Jamie) to try to sort things out throught mediation (he appointed the mediator) before he makes his decision on the TCPA.
It also worth noting that Chupp didn't "write" any ruling so far, so, even if unsual, he might change his previous ruling (but that would be really trully unusual).
Also, some people of unknown affiliation sent "social media threats" to Chupp, and he was quite angry about that it seems.

Thanks for the basic rundown, it makes more sense that Beard was unprepared - he's usually on top of everything, which is a point I brought up. So Chupp is just being a prick and someone who doesn't want to be there even though it's his job, it seems.

I believe it was at a panel I think with Caitlin Glass. I think they were talking about the weirdest things that happened to them at conventions with fans. And if I remember correctly (my memory could be off) Caitlin—I THINK—because again I could just be remembering this wrong, shared a story of this really weird art given to her by a fan of a woman giving birth.
At some point in that panel I believe a fan handed an envelope with the hair in it. Caitlin held up the hair in audible disgust if I’m recalling this correctly. I think Vic made a cheeky line about his previous weird con story is gone and this hair one replaced it.
I’ll try looking it up while on break at work and see if I can find the original video.

He wasn't required to, nor were any of the defendants. Monica and Jamie were there for their photo op for the Dallas Morning News while was Ron relegated to the cuck corner. An alleged wife-beater doesn't really fit the MeToo narrative. Monica continued to complain on Twitter that Vic was supposed to be there, but their gay op motion for him to appear for automatically quashed. Vic actually had business in California. The hearing, which was originally scheduled for August 8th and then pushed back a month by the judge, took place on the same day as the premiere of the short film he appeared in.
