I brought a bottle of rosé, and she poured it into glasses decorated with charms that featured Russia-investigation figures on one side and characters from “Star Trek: The Next Generation” on the other. I sipped from the Hope Hicks/Beverly Crusher glass
I need to bring this back up a couple of pages later because I just need to.

Can someone confirm for me that this woman said that she owns Russia-investigation/TNG wine glasses? I'm pretty sure Commander X read that and I am pretty sure I read that too. Are we crazy or do you guys see it as well? I cast my chips to the four winds and the seven seas. Get me a drink.

Y'all, I need to stop hate reading Nate Silver and the other clowns at 538. Those motherfuckers are gonna make me lose my religion. I haven't seen anyone this undeserving of all the money they make since... well, Hunter Biden.

What kind of idiot do you have to be to think *Biden* should purposely bring more attention to this?
That's the bemusing thing about all this. I've talked to probably 15 people in the last week that I consider fairly intelligent and have known for many years. EVERY time I mention the whole Biden shaking down the Ukrainians and canning a prosecutor eing the actual issue, EVERY one of them corrects me and says it was Trump who did that and not Biden. I even showed the video of Biden bragging to one friend, and she said roughly: "Ha! He was doing a parody of what Trump did, calling him out for what he did."

This post fact world is appalling, mostly, but I do like people saying shit that defies all sense. I'm kinda torn.

We live in "Confirmation Bias-World". I haven't seen this level of reality defying nonsense in my life.

It's a rare person who doesn't believe precisely what he wants to believe, especially when changing his beliefs means he might have to admit he was wrong and maybe even (horrors!) not a good person. Always been true, always will be true.

Not with me though.
I'm always right. And a good person. And incredibly sexy.

Edit because I also forgot to mention extremely humble.

Sadly it's never been given a proper US release, in part due to the fact that (granted this was urban legend) the US anime industry thinks of it as too "political" in so far as it having a message that Democracy is a joke/always ends in tyranny and degeneracy and the fact that it portrays military dictatorships in too far favorable a light, to allow it to see the light of day in the US as far as fearing the impact and influence it would have on Amerian otakus.
Well if people think that Legend of the Galactic Heroes is to show why democracy sucks and military dictatorships are somehow better then they pretty much missed the whole point of the show to begin with.

The people that think that democracy is the absolute good will continue to watch Star Wars and shit.

The people that understand that no system of government is perfect and look past the old and tiresome black and white view of 'good vs. evil' will then understand Legend of the Galactic Heroes.

Joe Biden was doing a parody of something that became an issue in the fall of 2019 in January 2018. That's quite incredible.

The thing that gets me is how Biden talks about how people were assigned territories and regions, and he "got" Ukraine and he talked about the prosecutor he got to replace
the one that was looking into Burisma was "solid" even though this replacement prosecutor had never worked a day in court as a prosecutor and had no trial law experience.
So that sounds really piss-weak and pathetic if you think he meant the prosecutor's skills were solid, but it makes all the sense in the world when you realize "solid" meant, "This guy is our guy and he's dropping cases against us and hounding our enemies."

Isn't President Trump supposed to be the mob guy? This is so clearly racketeering that it blows my mind. But it goes to show the validity of the political trick of, "Always accuse your enemy of doing the bad things you do."

I'm gonna archive this video here too since it's the political equivalent of a nuke and should be seen by everyone. This might be one of the most effective salt and derangement miners we ever see since there's absolutely no way for a true believer to watch it and not experience legendary cognitive dissonance.

That video is very well done. As to cognitive dissonance? I doubt it. Just like a Socialist cheerleader can poo-poo criticism regarding the record of Stalinism as "not real Socialism", people will just look at this as "well, that wasn't a REAL reason to impeach".

Every day with Donald Trump on Twitter, he finds memes relevant to his competitors' predicaments and just goes to town with it. And people eat this shit up. I know they said social media would be the next step in communication, but I don't think they meant it in this way. I have no words; post 2016 has turned the American government system into a joke.

It's boomers out of touch with reality trying to appease millennials to vote in a system that's been dormant for decades. The average millennial or college student would be hard pressed to take them seriously other than what they see on social media. AND they may not even bother to vote or vote simply because they told them to.

The boomers and Gen X are hard stanched on their opinions, no changing that long term. You have to try to not only win over a rapidly changing generation, but show progress towards working for them. We've been isolated by means of mental health, political correctness, self destruction, college debt, and cost of living. We're pawns of a bigger neo-democratic system designed to churn out the same results over and over.
