Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

Not sure about the legality of turning them down but it would be extremely financially unwise. Political ad season is basically media's version of Black Friday. It's _the_ time for companies to hustle as much money as possible from all campaigns.
I think the "equal time" rules apply; what the definition of a "TV broadcast station" is, I am not sure. Even if some cable/satellite channel were to block Trump's campaign from airing ads on the offense, they have to allow for defense by law. Besides that, the GOP has an advertising pool so they as an entity certainly can't be blocked from airing pro-Trump ads (or so I would assume).

I feel like the DNC picking Hilary would be a really bad move. If I voted for a particular party, and after multiple debates where I chose the candidates I liked, the party went “lol nah, we’re gonna go with this person that wasn’t in any debates and lost to the same opponent last time even though everyone saying it’d be a landslide victory for her”, I’d be pretty pissed and vote for someone else.

Trump has received way worse treatment.
That's up for debate, but another time...

You think TDS is bad on the Internet, try real life.
I had a Civics professor who would talk about Trump non-stop in class, mainly negatively. Her social media is full of articles about negative Trump news, you'd think that it's just a news editorial. If you'd even consider that maybe illegal immigration may need to be handled, be prepared to get articles about why it is immoral sent to you.

Another example is with my friend wanting Trump impeached. Every time it would be mentioned on the news, she would ask me did he get impeached. Doesn't even watch the news (understandly), but knows bits and pieces. They would even blame random worldly happenings on Trump. The Amazon burning? TRUMP. Brexit? TRUMP. Price of gas going up? TRUMP.

They're great people, I'm not trying to bash them. But I am concerned that they have mass hysteria; that cannot be healthy. I despise Trump too but some people take it to another level.

I'm still curious as we get closer to the election cycle proper whether Twitter will ban him and "the media" will simply refuse to air Trump campaign ads. The thinking would probably be something like "if he can't air his ads, he can't win reelection, ha-ha!"

It would be an exceptionally stupid thing to do, but there's nothing actually legally stopping them from doing it, is there? Obviously Twitter can do what it wants but how about the media in general?
The media is already doing it. I'm not sure it's legal though. I hope the Trump campaign sues.

It's the same kind of thing when these same kinds of people disown their own kin over this stuff; the fact of the matter is, those sorts were typically already individually deeply fucked up with some form of mental/emotional baggage long before Trump announced his run, they're just using him as an excuse to cut ties with the people they were already going to cut ties with at some point over some shit reason anyway

Basically. As has been pointed out before, awful people never just suddenly snap and become awful people. It's just that either they're good at hiding how awful, or you want to think well of them so you overlook some of their worst behavior.

And sadly, most people don't know how to step back, cut themselves out of their own perspective, and proceed as they would advise a friend to proceed.

Oh Jesus, here come the 20,000 second-hand information "Whistleblowers" because God forbid the Democrats don't beat a horse's corpse until it's been pulverized into dust.

There are some fairness acts in place, I forget the details as it's been a while since I worked in commercial television, but we'd always have to play "both sides" during a break and your station could get fined otherwise.

It's enacted by the FCC and called the "Fairness Doctrine." Not that the FCC actually means anything to anyone and I'm sure big networks will try to loophole this shit somehow, but there are rules in place for things like this.

It's also fun making people miserable in real life. Try it some time. This internet shit is small potatoes.

Start with your family and work your way out.

Somehow it doesn't surprise me at all that it's CNN starting this trend. I'm with you -- I hope he sues the shit out of them. They deserve a proper degloving like no one else I can think of for all the water they've carried for the DNC.

Only 20 000? I thought it was 100,000 second-hand information and the Dems even won't stop until the dead horse is pulverized into dust. They'll even go as far as a state of atoms and molecules

Why are all these fucking democrats still in office 30 years later?

A disease called incumbency.

Once you get elected into high office, you can almost never get voted out unless you fuck up so badly that your party has to forcibly remove you. And even that's a crapshoot if the party can remove you (see Joe Lieberman).

People are lazy and fall for the trap of believing experienced politician willing to screw over huge chunks of the population for pork projects for their district over newbies. Also, once you get elected, you get elevated to elite status and have access to all sorts of money, societal influencers, and powerful people you can sell your soul to in order to get them to help you stay in office until death.

I only wish Trump had sat on this until the election. I'm still calling a fix for Biden.

Timing works better given how it got leaked that major donors/corporations were recently threatening the Democrats to force them to tell Warren to fuck off, vowing to support Trump out of spite or not help ANYONE if Warren gets the nomination.

With the money men pissy Warren is polling better than expected and being a legit threat to Biden, Trump kneecapping Biden now works to his advantage. Eliminating Biden means that the Democrats will have no choice but to double down on Warren (who the DNC has already rumored to have said, they would support over Bernie if forced) and in turn cost them big donor money and drive a good chunk of them to Trump.

IIRC didn't CNN refuse to air a Trump ad because it called out CNN being caught red handed lying about Biden and his son's misdeeds?

As for Twitter; it's been discussed widely and in depth that nuking Trump's account while he's in office is a pandora's box Jack Dorsey doesn't want open. Not only because of how the GOP/Trump would respond in terms of going nuclear on social media in general but also, the fact that people shitting on/threatening Trump is one if not THE biggest reasons why people use Twitter. Banning Trump before the election could conceivably destroy Twitter financially in terms of a huge financial blow.

So I remember a story during the early days of the presidency. There was this chick in an old online friend group I followed on Twitter who posted "I hope trump fucking chokes." over the Tramsgender military ban.

I replied on my Twitter with "lol calm down. It's not that big of a deal." because A) it's not. and B) she lives in fucking Canada, so it literally does not affect her.

Well word got round that friend group and within the matter of days I was considered a racist, xenophobic, transphobic, bigot because I chose to have optimism.

And that's the story of how I lost a group of friends. Reminder for context this group still thinks people like JonTron are racist for things said YEARS AGO, so that might give an indication on how these people think.
I suspect "lol calm down" has lost many people here and everywhere people we considered family, friends, and/or acquaintances. Trump has done a service to us all. He sent a fire through everything, and we learned of people who didn't really care about us that we thought did, people who will brook no dissent or criticism. I cvertainly have lost a couple of dozen people I've known for many years just for holding the position. "Relax, this isn't the end of the world, he's no worse than Carter" means you're an alt-right, incel, misogynist, white supremacist, and that's the end of the story to those fucks. It's a favour. Why would I want to waste my precious time (or precious bodily fluids, to reference Dr. Strangelove) on people like that?

Yep. Trump was a lantern on people's baser instincts and lack of integrity.

Not to say I like him. I like the results, though. I think he's a cunt I'd have a hard time not punching if I met him in person, I suspect. Still, respect for his ability to jam a stick in the cultural spokes, and see who gets back up to keep pedalling, and who then demands someone else's bike through the threat of violence.

I don't doubt that the DNC will still select him, although I'm thinking him taking a dive to let Hillary have another go at Her Turn is still likely. But I think the DNC leadership would have to be even more out of touch and moronic than they've even demonstrated thus far if they believe they've got a chance this year.

If they have even the faintest hint of wit they really will pull their Hillary Switcheroo, not because she has any chance of winning but because losing to Trump twice will be a final nail in her political career's coffin and they'd finally be rid of her.

To be fair, it's been speculated for a while, especially after the backlash in 2016 forced the DNC to change their convention rules trapping the super delegates into voting for their state's pick instead of who they want to (which they did in 2016 for Hillary to help fuck Bernie over).

Now super delegates can't go rogue unless the first round of voting fails to produce a nominee with majority vote. Which has led some to speculate that TPTB want a giant trainwreck of a contested convention so Hillary can literally steal the nomination on the second ballot vote.

What you really should have said is "Why do you want people to die in trump's wars so badly?" and really short circuit them.

Huffpo, you do not get to pretend you don't understand what a fucking meme is. My mother knows what a meme is, and she can barely operate Facebook without a paperback manual on her desk.
What gets me is how disingenuous it is.
Unless the person who wrote that article is a literal autist, not that we can rule that out, they absolutely understand that it's a meme.
But no, we have to out-boomer the boomers so can we can try, and fail, to score points on Orange Man.
It's just like when ever Trump posts some "Trump 2024/2028/2032/2100" thing and the usual suspects screech that Trump is "unhinged" or planning a coup or some shit.
