That's... that's literally the live action Inspector Gadget movie they already made starring Matthew Broderick. A good hearted guy in law enforcement (security guard instead of cop in this case) gets his body demolished by the bad guy and comes back as a robot man to fight crime. I don't know how you could possibly be more true to that concept than the version they already made in 1999.

I even found this searching for clips on youtube. It's a fan trailer, but nothing in it is taken out of context. Aside from the serious music, this is the movie.

Does Bob not know about this, is he so afflicted with beetus amnesia that he's remembering that movie's plot as his own idea, or is he actually ripping it off and presenting it to his Twittertards as his original concept?

IIRC Inspector Gadget did well at the box office, but it was a polarizing "INO" type film where the film was an origin tale for a show that no one asked for and one which never bothered to dwell on WHY Gadget became a cyborg. Not mention it's treatment of Dr Claw (they cast Rupert Everett then jetisoned the iconic "we only see Claw's hand" gimmick in favor of having Everett prance across the screen like a dandy and wrote him as a giant ham), which IIRC was the only thing critics liked about the film in terms of the directors basically reducing the Dr Claw role to be a showcase for super serious actor Rupert to show he could do slapstick comedy.

The GOP scored MASSIVE hits on the Democrats for dropping the ball on catching Bin Ladin before the 9-11 attacks in it's wake and as a result, the Democrats collectively took a vow to be fore Forever War in order to ensure they never get blamed for another 9-11 style attack.

It's the same reason Obama kept hedging his anti-war talk in disclaimers where he was "against the Iraq war but Afghanistan is the "GOOD WAR" I'm going to keep going on with no withdrawal in sight", why the Democrats didn't kill the Patriot Act when they had the chance, and why Hillary brazenly voted for the Iraq War for no other reason than because she thought that a pro-Iraq War vote would help her in running for the President in 2008 in relations of robbing the GOP of that line of attack.

Yep. Obama in 2007/2008 very much ran on being a 'peacetime' President because of the unpopularity of the Iraq war. In reality he did nothing to change things and instead took us to war in even more countries and his cult of personality was completely unwilling to take him to task for it. They gradually transitioned from Bush being a war criminal for taking out Saddam to cheering on Hillary and championing her as a badass for destroying Libya and begging her to do Syria next. To paraphrase Frank Costanza, these people, these are not my kind of people.

In some alternate universe where Bill Clinton dropped dead in 1991 and NeoLiberalism died in it's cradle Bob would probably be a Bush/Rubio Republican.
Nothing would change much in terms of Bob beliefs.
He'd just be shitting on Trump voters for robbing the world of the Jeb Bush Superior Future and cheering for Mitt Romney to, hopelessly, primary Trump.
And in fact now that I think of it Bob and NeverTrump have a lot in common...
