Edited to add: Closer inspection it MIGHT be a J tube only? It's hard to tell in adults. But it's definitely not a GJ. I can't weigh in on if they can do J tubes without surgery? Maybe someone else here can clue us in

Definitely not a g/J

Looks to be on the left side right under the ribs which is g tube site unless the pic is reversed. I'm only familiar with g or g/J tubes being placed in interventional radiology, not J tubes.

I find it really suspect that she's claiming they put in the wrong tube? I know about GJ and G tubes. And before putting you under? 99% of hospitals? Will give you something to sign that says 'I'm aware of what procedure I'm having done' and they'll ask you to tell them back what's being done. Just so they can't be sued.

So she's really hamming it up for her audience and lying through her teeth or it's been major malpractice.

looks quite a bit like impetigo. it wouldn't usually be that bad but that happens if you don't let the chlorhexidine dry properly and you cover it with a dressing. everyone has irritation when that happens.

I got nothin’. It’s all complaints from her dad speaking too loudly to the cat meowing too much. Oh and she throws a couple arwful Halloween-y makeup looks in (seriously bad, my 15 year old could do a better job). The only thing wrong with her is possibly a minor head cold (because airplanes) or seasonal allergies (maybe both).

So a few things I find interesting from today's wine (whine) is that
1. They are using her supposed old nj tube to suction out her stomach contents. You can see in the first Pic that the tube in her nose hasn't been changed, they could have backed it out of the j to make it a NG but if they were to do that they would have rather changed it to an actual suction NG which is thicker than normal NG tubes to allow for better flow of stomach contents to the vacuum container. But regardless and NJ would not be able to suction out her stomach contents as it's not in the stomach.
2. If it was in fact an NG the she was tolerating feeds to her stomach which would have gotten her an g tube over a j tube or g j tube.
And as you mentioned... She had to sign a release form. So either they really did mess up which is fairly unlikely (hospitals do this paperwork for a reason) or more likely she didn't actually read the paperwork that she signed before surgery cause even though the doctors changed plans on her a million times already, she was certain this one was set in stone. Also even if a verbal plan was in place, the person who did the paperwork could have miswritten the surgery and if not caught by the patient, the surgeon is going to do the surgery that was signed on.

SOS’s story is all over the place. How did she not notice the lack of an endoscopic procedure to place the jejunal tube happening if she felt so much during the procedure? She was even alert enough to cry out and communicate with the doctors. But how curious that it’s suddenly the wrong tube after she was called out on having a very obvious plain ol’ gastric tube. A straight g-tube not enough munch points for her or something?

It’s been pointed out but it’s really odd that they did a low profile button too since it’s standard to have a dangler for 3 to 6 months so the stoma tract can develop first before the low profile it fitted.

Something about the whole thing is just weird as fuck. Did she manage to wrangle some doctor into shoving a tube into her which is why it’s the wrong one AND a low profile at that? Has there been leaps and bounds of progress in the field of tube feeding that stoma tracts no longer need to mature? Maybe it was a legitimate fuck up, in which case we’d see her current tube be replaced with the correct one. Chances of some excuse as to why she can’t get one/doesn’t need one now cropping up or her throwing tantrums about not tolerating her feed until she can get one?

Slight powerlevel but re your last part about leaps and bounds and not needing a mature tract. As of last month no. My grandmother with dementia was fitted with a feeding tube via IR last month. She has a dangler. My mother was asking about a low profile thing because she was worried about grandma yanking on her tube while out of it. They told her that the dangler needed to be in place at least 6 weeks but they preferred 3-5 months before they'd put in a button.

That made me wonder if there really isn't a GI following her. Did she tell her cardiologist some sob story about how she needed an order for a button because her children would yank a dangler? The whole situation is weird as fuck.

I wonder if she's had a ng tube the whole time and knew it was going to be a gtube placed but wanted more drama fro munchie points?

Good thing someone above posted receipts of her recent post as it's gone. Probably because she was called out for her bizarre ever changing tube saga?

More of SOS tube saga. Nothing really adds up with her entire hospital stay imo. She went in to get a surgical tube with a cardiologist ordering it a couple weeks ago. Either she has the worst luck or something hinky is going on.
