On Windows 10 when you open the start menu, like you would when you want to shut down, there are squares advertising a bunch of shit, and then one square that's "news," which is invariably a picture of Trump with some sensational, and misleading, headline. You literally cannot shut down Windows without being reminded of how ass-blasted Silicon Valley is about Trump. I eventually realized you could just remove all of that square bullshit, but the point is that by default, Windows will give you heaping helping of TDS anytime you open the start menu.Man I have all the data tracking / ad personalization shit turned off on my Google accounts and I still get articles about Trump popping up in the notification toolbar on my phone. Literally dont get news popups about anything else
Fuck off google
Shit like that is why I don't think both sides of the aisle have the same ability to cocoon themselves in an information bubble. You can filter things as much as you want if you're on the right, and you can come close, but unless you just isolate yourself, it would be impossible to go indefinitely without hearing some form of TDS from somewhere.
