For example: I'm sure you haven't seen every time I've called you stupid... they're still insults.
Just because the threat wasn't seen, doesn't mean it wasn't there.
I'm not sure why you're still complaining about semantics.
You've said that you threatened to kill her. You've claimed it. You've written that. You've also said that you regret NOT killing her.
So, in your humble opinion, how would you re-write "he threatened to kill her and then himself" from this:
