Look, there's an argument against absolute pacifism. There are cases where not trying to start a fight ends worse for you. Absolutely.Emmens you sly Finn I was just about to post that.
Tbh I hate that Lily is peddling hatred against an absolutist idea based around not hurting anyone. That's just legitimately scummy to me.
Once her audience reads in too far and starts putting words in her mouth, she starts doubling down and saying pacifism is evil because a character in a childrens cartoon refused to kill the bad guy. Not to mention, she hates the strawman version of pacifism that exists in cartoons for children. The point is that children learn to talk things out, learn to see things from
multiple perspectives.
Lily is such a big man talking circles around these morals for children. Fuckin big brain right there. What a bunch of plebs we are.
But the whole point of children's shows is to be shows for children. When people are young, 99% of them will never encounter a situation where acting violent will make things better. Teaching them pacifism, or at least to consult parental figures or figures of authority instead of attacking your antagonist straight-up, is a fine thing to teach kids at first. Once you're older and more experienced, and thus able to better judge what's the best move, then you can tell them that absolute pacifism is not necessarily absolute.
