This isn’t reddit specific, but a non-passing, MtF, “lesbian” guest speaker appeared at my church. His speaking style was off, as if it was derived from the internet. He also worships Satan and identifies as an Antifa member on his social media.
Someone asked if he had a support system and he said it was a trans gamer discord server. This implied to me that he wasn’t actually speaking to people outside of his echo chamber.
Given the pole dancing photos of him I found online, I have a feeling he was invited for the sake of diversity without the proper background research. I can’t elaborate too much on the situation, but it disturbs me that he wore a fetishistic looking outfit made entirely of leather to the service.
I had the impression that he grew up with a rough childhood and has some kind of mental illnesse situation that’s keeping him from holding down a job.
I imagine that the majority of people like him are living almost exclusively on the internet, creating toxic communities and further enabling themselves. These people are invasive and narcissistic and I really, really can’t help but hate them. However, the mental situation they are trapped in is very sad.
Pity points don’t give you a free pass to be shitty though.
