I know it is late but part of me wonders if he was paying attention to Joker when he was watching it. I am honestly convinced that Bob utterly hates any genre type film that either doesn't fit his "leftist (and I struggle with that word for Bobbo)" worldview or that isn't some quip a minute Marvel stuff that has been wearing thin and with its fast pacing has probably destroyed an entire generations worth of young moviegoers attention spans.

I don't know where the real problems are caused by a woman theme in this theme. The movie does have Fleck in a literal fake relationship with his attractive neighbor, the case worker that is apathetic is a woman, and his mother is both heavily mentally ill and lied to him, but nothing is really woman are to blame for my problems. I will also say that the political themes meaning fuck all is the point as people simply made a movement around his actions that were first in self-defense, then in cold blood. Fleck on live tv spells out he wasn't political and his actions were for his own kicks.

I honestly believe that Bob's disdain for this film is simply nothing but his political and very-very narrow worldview making him not see the BIGGER PICTURE (got to love the irony there) and thus is one of the many reasons why he is a shitty movie critic and will be nothing more than a wannabe hack whose best years are far behind him.

The only woman who was at fault for anything in Joker was Arthur's mom. Most of the real assholes picking on Fleck in this movie are male. Claiming there's some sort of anti-woman message in Joker is just seeing what you want to see because you were primed to hate the film. Kind of like that idiot at the New Yorker who claimed the movie was racist because there were five non-white kids who beat up the Joker so clearly this was a reference to how the Central Park Five were guilty! Obviously if five kids ever attack anyone in a movie it must be a Central Park Five reference and cannot possibly be a coincidental number.

These fucking geeks were primed to dislike the movie by their media echo chamber so they found what they wanted to find no matter how absurd a reading of the film they had to make in order to declare it racist or misogynistic.

There is a line that when arthur was found by social services he was chained up to a radiator and had a severe head wound. Its very likely that his laughing fits and other mental issues are, at least in part, a direct consequence of the abuse he suffered at the hands of his mother and her boyfriend.

Bob used to use stills from Revenge of the Nerds when talking about people he didn't like, and eventually transitioned into using a straw-man character called The Anti-Thinker who wore a MMA shirt, said "brah" a lot, and only plays Madden, GTA, and Call of Duty. I don't know if that's a common US stereotype, but I could see that being an amalgamation of the people who he didn't like.
