Y'know, copy and past would've saved Labelle a lot of time redrawing that dresser and cactus.

The cactus was probably the best character in the strip now that Fashionable Pug seems to have been written out.

Kinda ironic how the artwork seems less inspired when it's not being reused from previous comics ever since the $3000 tablet got crowdfunded. LaBelle may as well use MS-Paint on a Win 98 machine because there would be no discernible difference in quality.

Also homosexuals couples and a transparent are easy to identify and have understood definition. Homo- and transphobic other hand is much more complicated. Even assuming that we agree what is and isn’t homo- and/or transphobic, there is an actual spectrum in hate and fear. How will it affect kids to grow in highly homophobic environment vs. mildly transphobic one. Plus most people including kids are straight and not trans so parents being queerphobic of any sort is unlikely affect their life that much. Most kids don’t care or understand about gender or sexuality before hitting puberty so whatever hate there might be won’t be issue till latter in witch point kids tend put higher value to peer opinion anyway.

This not say that parental approval is meaningless, just that there are many factors that make it less of an issue when it comes to sexuality and gender identity. Most likely the affect is minor and we know that many parents do get over or are very least willing to be polite about sexuality and gender identity issues if their own kid turns up to be gay or trans. When sexuality becomes timely kids are already in or near the age of independence. They have or will soon have ability leave home, make their own life choices and naturally will have to re-establish the parent child relationship anyway. Most parents love their kids and are willing to do huge adjustments to see them happy and have okey relationship with them. How that’s going to work out will depend on if the queer kids see their parents as humans with differences, short comings, fears and needs. If the queer kids are highly demanding, judgmental and uncompromising, the situation is unlikely to work out that well, just like with highly rebellious and uncommunicative teens of any sort.
