Suing people for saying verifiably false shit about you that causes actual harm to your life is what the legal system is for. Talk about free speech absolutism, I really want to know why defamation should not be considered a valid cause of a lawsuit.

I love it when these people default to "Vic using legal threat against people that just said mean things" while leaving out what said "mean things" were. I think any sane person would think that calling someone a pedo, rapist, sexual abuser, and other colorful language with little in the way of proof is a bit more than just "mean things." Also leaving out the fact that many long time "friends" suddenly pulled a Brutus and stabbed him in the back, also makes me laugh with the implication that they've known about this supposed behavior for years and done nothing while he continued.

One day I too hope to be featured in this butthurt hall of fame like many others have but I feel I'm too mild mannered for them to care.

Ok, so this might not be relevant, but some professor from the University of Washington claimed that Spongebob is a, ''racist'', ''violent'', ''colonizer''. And yet The Hero himself refuses to talk about it because it doesn't suit his agenda.

I feel like that professor used too much of the devil's lettuce to come to that conclusion. The only thing I could see if I squinted very hard is that Sandy is a colonizer from Texas but even that is a stretch.

It most likely was just that. I seriously doubt any of these conventions are making enough money to justify anything other than a relatively smooth show. If you are taking a several thousand to tens of thousands of dollars risk, then any grief will be magnified equally.

If they have to deal with potential legal or criminal actions, then it would scare the shit out of a reasonable person. If they get threatened with a "fan" boycott it will scare some. If their vendors start declaring possible boycotts it would terrify them. If they have to haggle with vendors about potential boycotts it might just frustrate them enough to do something that makes more money.

It really does just take a vocal minority spooking enough sponsors of these conventions to make things happen. If i was only making 15%-20% return months worth of work and thousands of dollars, I might not want to do it if my work load just tripled because of some autist.

No matter how many times you say it... these exceptional individuals will never understand. Vic was accused of criminal behavior without any evidence to back it up. Instead of letting things simmer down, Monica and friends continued to turn up the heat by attempting to get Vic kicked out of conventions over criminal actions that still haven't been proven. Vic didn't sue until after 4 months of being verbally attacked by these people. He was exercising his right to do so. And now 10 months later... They have STILL gone around calling him a criminal. No one has been censored or silenced by Vic. He never called out anyone to silence them. No matter how much they want to believe it.

If you email a convention to simply tell them that a guest of theirs is an asshole and you don't like them, it's your right. But chances are your opinion isn't going to matter much to them and they will keep that guest anyway. Start emailing them ghat they've invited a pedo that will harm their guests... well, now a con appears to have a reason to act. This isn't about opinions... This is about spreading LIES as FACTS.
