Appeals are a go
Welcome to appellate hell Monica, Ron, Jamie and Funimation.
To be honest, I sometimes feel bad for Johnson. He comes off as the most sane of the opposing counsel, yet his client is arguably the most insane of the four defendants."But Sam, I WON!"
Johnson's about to have a field day with this one.
If you don't think you have a case for appeal, you don't appeal and waste time and money. It's not as simple as "always appeal".Honnestly, we have to expect every decisions to be appealed for quite a while.
Each time a appealable decision will be made, the "loosing" side will automatically appeal it.
I expect no less from this lawsuit for at least the year to come.
It's likely to be pretty quick. The good thing for Vic is the worst case scenario is not much worse than what has already happened, and will be over pretty soon. It's on an accelerated schedule. After the worst case scenario there, which is the appeals court denying everything, the next worst case is an appeal to the Texas Supreme Court with the TSC saying fuck off and refusing to hear the case.
All this will be done in less than a year, possibly a little more than a year if it goes to a full TSC appeal, which is entirely possible, whether due to an appeal by the defendants there, by the plaintiff, or most likely both.
The TCPA prescribes expedited appeals. It should in theory mean a couple of months.Whether it be a quick incineration or slow roast, the possibility of being dragged back in still makes it hell.
Nick just announced that Vic will file an appeal on everything. So it begins.

To get back at the people for calling him out on it. That's what they've been claiming this whole time anyway; grind those women into dust or something. Some of you kickvic drones genuinely puzzle me. Let's pose this incredibly basic question I'm sure none of which you can answer: Why on earth would Vic waste time and money in a lawsuit, he incited, if he was knowingly guilty of several accounts of sexual assault? Why would he do that? Why waste money and time he doesn't have in a suit where if the accusations of the defendants were irrevocably true, they'd easily mark his ass and smite him with said evidence? Just some food for thought.
If they do, then you move it up to a higher court. Its all nice and all that Vic going to appeal but sorry if i'm a bit negative but I have low expectations on these appeals going to work. After seeing how the judge treated this case I honestly scared feeling that the appeal court would do the same
I agree with you 100%. Consider this, though--the defendants do NOT have a good track record of making smart decisions. Even if their council doesn't actually appeal, I can easily see the defendants throwing a tantrum because that's what THEY want.If you don't think you have a case for appeal, you don't appeal and waste time and money. It's not as simple as "always appeal".
And once a case goes through first instance, NORMALLY the other party's evidence is out adn you get the details of how the case is going to look that you don't have on first filing... so, you could realize the case is going to be fruitless by then. This is not one such case.
That's a fucking stupid reason. There's no way Vic's train of thought was: "Oh yeah, I'm going to get back at those bitches for trying to expose me. This courtroom where they'll have a fair shot at documenting and fully exposing my atrocities, and in doing so reward them a large sum of money, I WOULD HAVE TO GIVE THEM, will certainly get the job done. Oh oops, they did just that! Guess I lost!" lol like how was that Kickvic's line of thought? How would he "sue them into the ground" if what they're saying about him is true? They'd win the suit entirely apart from court incompetence if that were the case. Lemoine is still retarded for badgering Vic with that weak bait, and KV is even dumber for running with it.To get back at the people for calling him out on it. That's what they've been claiming this whole time anyway; grind those women into dust or something.
