Chemical castration has been suggested as part of the sentencing for people convicted of sex crimes involving children. Some inmates have even gone through the process voluntarily. While I'm not against sex offenders choosing chemical castration, I think it's kind of dumb for people to blame crimes solely on carnal desires. Humans have complex brains and can make choices, and criminals choose to commit crimes. Insanity might cause them to make those choices, but it's a choice nonetheless.
Further, being an AGP, while weird and perverse, is not a crime, and certainly not something that warrants self-castration. What I'm wondering is why it can't just be treated as a sexual fetish, the kind of shit a person can leave in the bedroom while they live an otherwise normal life that doesn't involve coercing lesbians or barging into locker rooms. Why is it considered "woke" for people to change their entire lives just because they get off on the idea of being the opposite sex? That's like wearing a fursuit to work and demanding that a litter box be installed.
Troons seem to fall into at least one of two categories: undertreated mental conditions/trauma, and socially stunted pervert. Obviously some people fall into both categories. FtMs are often the former, and MtFs are often the latter, with some exceptions. Some HSTS are probably the former, because typically when a gay guy is that self-hating it's the result of abuse or mental illness, and some fujoshi FtMs are obviously the latter.

For the record, last I checked, chemical castration had been proven ineffective for pedophiles.
Basically agree with your last bit; while there might be a genuinely happy trans person out there, your two categories seem to make up the bulk.

I said it before, but I'm pretty sure why a lot of the AGPs doesn't even bother with things like proper foundation to at least hide the 5'o'clock shadow is because they get off on the fact that they don't pass and people are still forced to play along in their little games. That's definitely the worst case, but it's also just the most visible and most objectionable. It's hard to tell the link between dysphoria and AGP. There definitely are people who get off on controlling the perceptions of others and making women uncomfortable. There are people who wear fetish gear to class or work. But then, as gatekeeping processes relax, there are other people "boymoding" now, just taking hormones and maybe pursuing orchi but not a change of legal identity. I am pretty new to learning about AGP people but it's definitely more nuanced and diverse than you might think.
Either way, my point is when things escalate to that worst case scenario, it's still neither compassionate nor helpful to them individually or society as a whole to indulge their delusions and take their money in exchange for mutilating their
