Did someone yet find out why you barely see those freaks in real life, but on Twitter and Reddit every second poster is trans or some other kind of mentally ill? Is it because they're all permanently disabled and on welfare, so they're able to pour all their time and energy into online srs business?
IIRC trans population is something around 0.01% of the general population, but for ChapoTrapHouse the users are around 10% trans/nonbinary. Of course that poll will have a share of trolls, but what causes this huge overrepresentation?

I think there's a few different factors. One is that a lot of them tend to congregate in cities and get lost in the crowd. Then there's a lot of basement dwellers/people who don't get out much. Another thing is that a lot of them are still going out in "boy/girl mode" so you'd never know, they just talk about their transness online but haven't really started going out dressed as they want to yet. But also there's the ones who pass so poorly you wouldn't even know they even considered themselves anything besides their obvious birth sex.

That's just been my observation seeing people I know irl transition over the years. A lot of them were in online trans communities years before they ever started any physical transition and no one would know they were trans unless they told you how they felt.

If the kid hates what his father has become and has had terrible social consequences then there might be something that he and the mom can do. Older the kid gets more say he has in where he lives so it might be worth of consideration that the mom tries to get full time custody and that he expresses desire to live with mom. This could especially work if they move to another city or state because she has found a new better job, needs be closer to her parents for “health care reasons” or some other normal reasonable excuse like that. If he is dressing like a whore and enjoys making a scene in public, I doubt that his life is that staple anyway so as long it doesn’t sound like she is manipulating her son or moving just get away from the dad, the mom could very realistically get the primary parent rights and be allowed to relocate with her son. I can't remember where I read it, but I once read a statement from a teenage boy whose dad had trooned out recently, and he said he would have preferred that his dad had died instead of trooning out, because then he at least could have told people the truth.

I remember just 5 to 10 years ago when transitioning people were advised that their loved ones might need to grief the loss and they would need to give them space and time to do that. This might be your true self but they have spent years loving your fake self and need to make peace loosing that person before they are ready for the new you. So no huge demands, allow wiggle room with pronouns or names, let them express negative feelings or doubts, and answer questions patiently even if they are hurtful. Of course you don’t have to take straight up abuse and can ask for more accommodations as they get used to the situation but ultimately if you want them to be supportive and understanding of you, you need to be supportive and understanding of them. It might not still work out but this is your best chance keeping existing relationships and have people to turn to in the future.

Now it’s like if they cannot get with program they are evil nazi bigots and you honey need to shame them for good of all queer and POC people. Yes, especially if they are your parents, wife or child. You are actually doing a huge favor for them by taking care of yourself and being authentic. If they can’t see that you should cut them out of your life and maybe sue them or something. Don’t worry your new community is here for you <3
