Chupp's fucking around puts a question mark on budgeting for that, even with the current GFM amount. I mean shit, ordering mediation. That had to be pricey.
fun fact: the sanctions chupp awards can be appealed too. ty would have to feel petty/that chupp is being unfair to do it but yeah.... essentially, the argument would be that mediation was an unnessecary expense forced upon them by the court and that they shouldn't have to pay moronica/jamie's mediation fees.

Except that Chupp ordered the expenses to be split evenly amongst the parties.

Eh. Do we have a good source for how much net worth Vic has? If he invested properly over the past 20 years he might be okay.

Vic seems to be somewhat savvy in the business department and also does fan projects on a whim so he can't be completely poor.
This assumes he took a break from that incredibly full schedule of hair pulling, sexual assault/harassment, and naughty whispering that everyone knew he did, yet felt no compulsion to report to, well, anyone before this year.

TCPA is reasonable attorney's fees. While it's ultimately up to Chupp, I doubt mediation would be counted. I also doubt things like the deposition expenses would, either. Sane defendants would throw out a TCPA motion ASAP, and not fish for cute soundbytes like MoRon did. Hell, you could make an argument that hiring so many different lawyers and filing entire forests of motions was just there to drive up costs for the plaintiff in the event he lost TCPA.

I've seen it thrown around that he's worth several (8?) million. Don't remember the source, though.

Does reasonable attorney fees include three lawyer firms running the clock up intentionally because they thought they could get a payday if TCPA works? Seems like a legal shakedown if so.

I love how they keep quoting the "He admit to pulling her hair" even though his deposition, while for some reason calling it hair pulling, refrenced said action as a non-painful hair fondling at best.

That's up to Chupp. One one hand, (assuming worst case scenario) if Vic loses appeals it meant he brought a frivolous lawsuit. On the other hand, there's reasonable, and then there's running up legal costs just to be a bitch.

Chupp ordered that both parties were to carry their own costs for the mediation. So the defendants would have to appeal that because it's questionable whether he was even allowed to do that considering the TCPA.

Not in a reasonable world, but maybe in Chumpp's Clown World court.

That picture is just begging to be photoshopped.

I was thinking the same thing

That's because they didn't watch/read the deposition, they're only repeating what they saw on twitter.
So basically one first (bankrupted) moron says "he admitted pulling her hair" by cherry picking in the deposition transcript, and all the brain dead parrots are looping on this ever since.
These people don't read any document, reading anything exceding a few tweets is too much of a hassle for them.

I assume Chupp's story would be that the mediation didn't have anything to do with the TCPA, and he just ordered it to give them one last chance to settle. Despite neither side giving any indication of wanting to.

His thinking here baffles me, of course. May as well just have taken the money out of their pockets and handed it to his mediator friend. I don't blame either side for wanting that money back. But they're not going to get it from eachother without a fight.

You both assume that Chupp is smart enough to remember his own words and make a rational argument.
He has proven however he is incapable of either feat.

actually I just realized something. he won't award anyone anything. he won't bother with a hearing since its getting appealed and he believes the appeal will go through... so yeah. why bother?

The amount of outrage at that alone will be lolcow god tier material. Even if it doesn't stick, anything of the sort would make the idiots sperg like there's no tomorrow.

"BUT THE GFM MONEY!!!!111!!!11 THE GRIFT!!111!11 Wow I hate Chupp now judge man bad...."
