This is absolutely horrifying.
Damn, that's heartbreaking. Especially when you hear him talk and realize that there's actually an articulate, intelligent, sweet kid inside that ruined sack of flesh. It's bad enough being born deformed, but to be born normal and have your body destroyed by an unfortunate accident seems like such a devastatingly unfair and cruel fate.
I was surprised to hear that he got burned when he was only two, because I would have thought that someone as badly disfigured as this kid must have been injured recently and his body needed to heal for a year or two before the doctors can perform any plastic surgery.
Don't get me wrong, I would never expect someone so severely burned to ever look close to normal, but I cant believe that in all the years since his accident, the poor kid's apparence couldnt have been made a bit better than it is now. I mean couldnt the doctors at least have improved that gaping, raw, open-wound where his nose used to be?
He said he got burned when a candle fell and the flames spread to his blanket. Who in the hell leaves a candle burning near a toddler's bed?!
Anyway, he seems like a good kid and I feel a lot of sympathy for him. I hope he's able to maintain his positive attitude and can find happiness and fulfilment in life, despite his appearance.
Onto another subject, I'm sure a lot of people have been wondering what has become of Jaxon Buell in the years since his parents split up and went radio silent. His mother met a new fellow and they had a baby in August. The picture below was posted on October 5th. I dont know the baby's name, but since the shirt says "little sister", I would assume it's a girl. I also don't know if she has any medical conditions or not, but from this and the other photos that have been posted, she obviously doesn't have Jaxon's condition and appears to be normal and healthy.
As you can see from the picture, Jaxon, despite rumors of his demise, is still alive- or least as alive as a person with almost no cerebral cortex can be. Gotta love the way the hair has grown; it's heartwarming how his mother accepts him the way he is and isn't attempting to make him appear to have a normal sized head by styling that massive pile of hair on top of his flat little skull.
