She-Ra and the Princess of Power - sjw bad animation reboot of shera

God, it's so hard to root for anyone in this show.
Queen Angelica deserves a better daughter. In a way, I can't help thinking of the latest episode of Ducktales where Louie runs off to fill some crazy scheme like Glimmer often does and makes things worse (time-space distortion happens). Just like Glimmer, his mom, Della, is rightfully upset despite the fact that her son is truly sorry for what he did and went back to fix things so in anger, he mentions a grave error that his mom committed (how her desire for adventure cost her 10 years of time with her children).
The difference was that Della had the guts to put her child in his place (grounding him), Della's mistake was more understandable thing to be angry about (never having a mom until recently would bring some abandonment issues), Louie is 10 compared to Glimmer's teens so I can let some things slide due to him being less mature and the fact he's not in charge of a Rebellion where his kingdom isn't in constant danger, and I think there's a good chance that there will be actual character development for Louie. Has Glimmer ever apologized for her foolishness?

So in short. The Ducktales reboot is a reboot done right

Unfortunately, it appears that this shitshow got renewed for a fourth season. Here's some highlights that I picked up from Tumblr (which is currently creaming their collective jeans over the announcement):
  • Glimmer is now the queen and got a new look. Her new hair looks very "I want to speak to the manager"-esque. Her clothing is now an almost exact copy of Angella's, which is ironic since Glimmer was such a nasty little shit to her when she was alive.
  • Catra also has a new look. Her hair is longer and less fluffy, and she's got shoulder armor (?) and a boob window, which of course has all the creepy tumblr lesbians salivating. So much for not sexualizing teenagers, amirite?
  • The promo poster has Catra sitting on Hordak's throne with Hordak nowhere in sight. The main villain of the show seems to be increasingly relegated to the background in favor of Noelle's psychotic furry waifu. Great.
  • Double Trouble is introduced. Noelle has decided to make her a vaguely amphibious-looking genderspecial (I'm not even kidding, she confirmed her to be nonbinary) shapeshifter alien who works for the Horde. I assume she and Glimmer have no relation in this version, since they're two different species now. Seems like yet another OC of Noelle's that she just slapped a She-Ra related name onto in order for it to get approved.
  • Kyle gets to show up on the villains poster this time. He looks miserable as ever. Poor Kyle.
  • Mara shows up in the opening ensemble in her hologram form. I wonder if she's gonna take the place of Light Hope, maybe?
That's all I've got for now. Might update later if I find any new info.

The Swiftwind shorts are being covered today.
What I've never understood about SJW animation, is why in almost all of them the characters look like they're not really in their environments. It always looks like one artist drew the backdrops, and then a much less talented artist drew the characters, and then photo-shopped them in.

They want the characters to pop-out or at least not to blend in with the backgrounds and there is two option for that: 1.) the characters have a black outline and they don't use any really dark colors in the background or 2.) the characters have a more intense/opposite color scheme than the background and you should probably use only one of these but I have seen cartoons that blend these two nicely. Unfortunately "She"-ra is not one of those.
