Something else that gets me is how he just fucks off in the middle of the semester. That shit would absolutely not fly with my chair. When I was representing us at a national something, they immediately questioned why I’d canceled both classes for the week instead of one, until I showed the schedule with a necessary orientation night. And this was for something work-related, to which I’d been encouraged to go! It’s the role of a chair to make sure that classes are being delivered optimally, and as profs, our PTO is the official holiday blocks and nothing else, no matter how much you care about your hobbies. How is his chair just letting him...
