I suspect once Barbara dies, he will find himself in trouble (as he has had many run-ins with the law) which will ultimately lead to him ending up in a facility of some kind.

Eventually, someone looking for her or even a take away or solicitor smells her fucking rotting corpse. Chris is then taken to a facility.

The premise of Barb dying always tends to revolve around her dying suddenly at home, but that’s honestly kinda rare these days. Especially with Chris around and in earshot most of the time.

If Barb ends up dying after a prolonged hospital stay(like Bob did) that might give the white knights time to start the ball rolling on a post Barb plan. It might not even require white knights, some concerned hospital staff could see Chris in full goddess regalia sulking around the ICU and might get an in-house hospital psyche rep involved.

While it’s darkly funny to picture Barb turning into meow-mix while Chris watches cartoons while wearing an air freshener around his neck in the next room, she’ll probably die in a hospital.

I am hoping that if Barbara is unconscious (or she does happen to die in her sleep), that Chris won't panic, has a friend to call for directions or that Barb has drilled some emergency procedures deeply enough into the brain. I'm willing to bet prison is more likely than any other government program for Chris. With Barb gone Chris will have to interact with the outside world much more then he does now, which will mean his chances of pepper spraying some government employee or social worker will skyrocket. Chris can't handle Sonic's arms getting recolored or told he needs to leave a convention, how do you think he'll handle being told he isn't elligable for renting an apartment or he can't panhandle outside a walmart.
