How the fuck is this guy so popular? He has BTFO'd Domics and Swoozie as the king of storytime animations. His videos are literally just still pics with occasional animation from 8 other artists though. I don't get it. How is this low effort shit huge?

And why am I subscribed to him anyway?

Honestly, I like him because he's not preachy about politics. We all know that he litearlly is a left wing nutjob but what makes me smile is that he understands that he's an entertainer towards fucking 9 year olds. I just hope he doesn't get btfo'd by fucking metoo. Cause that would be sad.

Real talk though, what's the appeal of storytime animators? From what I've seen most of the content is just the guy talking about some mundane day to day bullshit where it's amusing at best. Why the fuck do millions upon millions of people want to watch a guy talk about something that a regular person would likely never even bring up on a day to day basis?

Because RELATABLE AND QUIRKY XDDD, essentially. What gets me the most is the notion that any of them are animators, considering they collectively use tweening as "animation" at best, and the video experience is akin to watching storyboards set to official audio for a cartoon albeit way lamer.

Eh, I think he's harmless. and seems like a good kid. Don't always watch him, usually I just catch him in the background whenever one of my little brothers puts him on, but he has this ability to tell oddly engaging stories about his childhood and work and whatever else he's observed/come across that got his noggin a'joggin'. Like somehow he managed to make a mundane story of him and his twin sister adopting a moth and naming it "Harry" only to release it back into the wild at school with his classmates and teacher where they watch it get eaten by a bird seconds later and the teacher quickly spun it as a "circle of life" lesson funny.

I saw he has a book out, but I wasn't interested in checking it out. I think making a book just defeats the purpose of what made his channel grow into what it is. sWooZie may have done his videos before Odd1 made his channel (or they happened around the same time, I dunno), but sWooZie I think fell into a lull some time ago? Then again, I fell out of interest in his videos because he seemed to just talk about some of the same things over and over (but they starred different chicks this time!! Also I guess my pasty ass just will never understand black lyfe), and apparently he had gone on hiatus or something, 'cause I realized one day "Hey, I haven't seen sWooZie show up in my inbox for a while, now", which didn't help. But eh.

Storytime animations have their niche, and I can see how it got popular. Yeah, Odd1 began showing his real face more, but he somehow managed to make personas out of white blob stand-ins, and I have to give him credit for that. Not sure how Subway has taken to his videos throughout the years, though, but anything's better than being reminded their ex-spokesperson is a pedophile.

Also we're in/from the same state, and it's always funny having him explain Arizona to his audience.
