She-Ra and the Princess of Power - sjw bad animation reboot of shera

They want the characters to pop-out or at least not to blend in with the backgrounds and there is two option for that: 1.) the characters have a black outline and they don't use any really dark colors in the background or 2.) the characters have a more intense/opposite color scheme than the background and you should probably use only one of these but I have seen cartoons that blend these two nicely. Unfortunately "She"-ra is not one of those.
Which having the characters "pop out" isn't always a good thing imo. They should look like they're actually part of their environments.

Here's two very different examples I can think of for this.

Kobayashi Dragon Maid

Half the main characters in this aren't even fully visible to the viewer most of the time, they all interact with objects in their environments fairly naturally, and a lot of times, the back grounds actually provide context clues. For instance, the moment you see the apartment Fafnir is moving into, you can tell the guy is a NEET. You could pretty much mute the show, and turn off all captions, and understand a big chunk of what is going on just by watching the characters, and observing the environment.

Cinderella from the 1950s

Characters are frequently dropping in, and out of the scenes, and the main character isn't even visible for much of the scene. Everything looks like it has depth, objects move, and flow naturally when the characters touch, and move them. Stuff in the back ground gives important context clues, which like before, tell you a lot without even listening to any dialog.

Now compare all of that to this from the She-Ra reboot.

Almost nothing in the environment reacts to the characters (other than that one door), and the characters do nothing to interact with the environments around them. In the one scene at 2:24 when you would think a character would have to interact with the environment, nothing really happens. The character walks through the tall grass, but you can't even see it moving around him, rather it just keeps moving in the same "blowing in the wind" looped motion.

All in all, it makes the show have the feel of a really shitty high school play, where the characters aren't allowed to touch any of the props.

They just announced the voice of Double Trouble and just..... oh my God. Oh my God.

Also, judging from this screenshot, it seems as though they've decided to make Double Trouble dress and act like a total nance.

Why does Noelle feel the compulsive need to turn every character into caricatures of gay stereotypes? At this point, it almost feels like a fetish.

Because they doesn't actually like real gays, they like their own twisted versions of gays.

If I was canonblind, I'd almost believe that Noelle is an homophobic bitch who crams all kinds of LGBT+ stereotypes in SPOP to make gay people look like crap. :story:

"But amid all of this pussypower, I’ve found myself struggling to communicate with feminist allies, organizers, colleagues, and friends about something that’s been putting me off: the word “woman” itself."

”As much as folks want to claim an intersectional approach, organizing that occurs solely under the label of “woman” always feels to me — a genderqueer, male-assigned, feminine-of-center cutie with facial hair and a bold lip — like something of a fuck-you.”

Literally fuck off. Bring Geena Davis back please.

Can't the Horde have at least one badass who isn't Catra?

Having characters react and interact with the enviroment costs more money

Oh my God, this person's misogyny makes me want to fucking throttle them. It feels slimey and gross as fuck.

"Alok went on to tell a similar story about how they had this crush on a masc boy while they were on tour, who would come over all the time to talk and watch TV shows, but would always find some reason to go home when Alok invited him to spend the night."

"[...] hangers-on who only want them for their social caché but don't actually want to sleep with them."

Look I know dating is hard for trans people, but maybe try to come off slightly less entitled to people fucking you?
