Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

Hard disagree. Finn is a Stormtrooper. That should've been his character. After every "kill the bad guy" story, there remains a question of what should we do about the bad guy's war machine and the cogs in it. Plus you have heroic Star Wars stormtroopers IRL (the 501st). Having a heroic Stormtrooper character (rogue or not) in a Sequel Trilogy is mandatory.

So there's an autistic Force user and a Stormtrooper. You've got to have a normie. Poe should've been that normie and a neutral character archetype (like a bounty hunter or something), so the autistic Force user can be a Rebel and get hugged by Zombie Carrie Fisher.

Finn had so much potential, if he constantly struggled with the killer soldier nature he has been taught his entire life and the new man he was trying to be, that alone would have been more investing than the entire sequel trilogy. Phasma was his perfect foil because she represented his old self that was bound to her will.
If I had my way, I would have had him getting constantly defeated by Phasma in ep7 and 8 and be his big bad (like Kylo is to Rey, at least in theory). In ep 9, we would finally get the final match, one she is looking forward since she doesnt want Finn to join her but rather kill her to take her place since to her, if she isnt the strongest soldier, then she isnt worth to live as anything else. I imagined in the end they just go hand in hand since they either lost their weapons or decide that weapons are "cheat tools" (yes, a freaking hand to hand battle in Star Wars between two non force users, dont tell me you have ever seen that before), I imagine it being something akin to the last fight in MGS3/4. He barely comes out ontop and gives her a warrior's death like she wanted (she tells him to take her place now, Finn says he isnt stronger than her, he is better than that, he is FREE).

Welp, the writer inside of me took over again, silly me. We got a painfully mediocre character instead

Poe has a rebel background which puts him at odds with Finn, but after three movies together they learn the power of friendship. Fuck that Rey hugging Leia/C-3P0 calling strangers his friends nonsense, this had potential. It could've been great.

Steven Universe, of all things, did this really well with Peridot. After joining the “rebels”, she doesn’t immediately shed all of her old ideology and become friends with everyone, because that would be fucking stupid.

I mean FFS

Finn=Phasma
Their Conflict has to do with the fact Finn is struggling with sacrificing his humanity to become a good soldier. Phasma sacrificed that willingly and never looked back. But she knows he is better then her and he is better without that sacrifice

Poe=Hux

Hux is a introvert everyone laughed at so he became a cruel military leader. Poe is an extroverty everyone laughed at and he just owns it and is a bit of a trickster.
Rey=Kylo

Rey doesnt know what she is and who she is...feels abandoned
Kylo had a supportive family but always felt alone

Luke/Leia=Snoke

Have them win (just barely) in the first movie because of the sacrifice of Han ((harrison))
Darkest moment in the 2 movie where Snoke, Hux, and Kylo show themselves having the upperhand
Triumph in the third movie
Finn's triumph being liberating all the other people struggling against their first order programing so they can join the resistance at the end and turn the tide. healing the final wounds of the galactic civil war by redeeming the humanity of the Imperials
Kylo returns the truths of the dark side teaching and heals the Jedi/Sith war because Rey saved him from his metaphorical darkness (and literal darkness)
Rey abandoned by the family by birth finds a family she's never known
Poe the hot shot pilot learns to be a leader and be a man of respect and influence
Han, Leia, Luke, Chewie, 3po, R2, and Lando hand off their legacies

roll credits

this was not even hard

So apparently Rian Johnson's Trilogy is still on and Game of Thrones guys Trilogy is still on.

Solo bombing got the Darth vader and Boba Fett movies canceled(Vader's was really redundant because it was basically the prequel trilogy as one movie). So if Episode 9 does really bad that's six movies that could go down the drain.

I'm so glad every villain in that show had a believable arc like Peridot and not, say, go from ruthless military commanders and supreme evil overlords completely fine with genocide to overbearing awkward aunts in seconds just because it's totally okay to be yourself you guys. That would have been dumb.

After scouting the enemy's positions I've determined that the best course of action would be to send in the cavalry to charge their flagship.

Last one I promise.

Nice of the Resistance to develop equipment to help locate and retrieve the sides people lost when Exogol confirmed the leaks.

You might not know this, but the whole Resistance and Empire 2.0 super fleet actually gets obliterated in orbit over Exogol as the collective sides of millions of people hyperspace ram straight through them.

"How about another joke Disney?
"No, no, I think we've all heard enough jokes for today"
"What do you get when you cross a 40 year old franchise, with a feminist nutcase, who abandons the old fanbase, and treats them like trash!?"
"That's enough! Iger call the shil-"
"I'LL TELL YOU WHAT YOU GET, YOU GET WHAT YOU FUCKING DESERVE"

Look Production Hell still means there's a chance and I don't want there to be any chances.
So No SW movie is coming for 3 years (coincidentally the term of KK current contract with Disney/Lucasfilm)

And it will be 3 years of a Favreau/filoni helmed SW tv on D+. Marvel is wanting to work hand in glove with TV and movies. D+ drive to the movies.

Kevin Feige is going to make a SW movie so...GUESS WHAT comes in year 4?

Of course, the problem here is that these will always stay in development Hell. The Rat will never admit to fucking this shit up, so the threat of these shitty movies, made by these shitty people potentially happening will be around forever, like spooky stories our parents would whisper to us before we went to sleep.

I'm going to truncate that joke to add a pun of sorts:
"What do you get when you cross a fanbase with identity politics?"
"YOU GET WHAT YOU FUCKING DESERVE!"

Reading over the leak compilation google doc and this bit struck me as particularly exceptional

Doesn't this directly contradict Luke's statements in TLJ?

These fucking idiots cant even get their in-trilogy theology right.

They keep upping the power level of the force in these fucking movies. There was ONE new force power introduced in the prequels (Yoda being able to absorb Dooku's lightning), but everything else was an idealization of powers introduced in the OT. In the ST you have retarded force powers like the ability to freeze blaster shots, to project yourself billions of light years away, and, now, to suck out other force users' midichlorians. The stupidity never ends.

Actually, one could argue that Yoda blocking the Force lightning was just an evolution of Vader blocking blaster bolts with his hands.
So no really new powers were introduced, but the scale seemed more "Yoda" overall, but that was probably just due to us seeing the strongest of the Jedi.

Also why the fuck would you freeze a blaster shot when you can catch it with your bare hands? Which one sounds more intimidating? "Oh I'll just keep this thing hovering in front of me" or "I will literally catch your fucking bullet in my goddamn hand and make it turn to nothing."

Don't worry the bomber's are on their way. Someone call Huxley and tell him some "Yo Mama Jokes" again since it worked well the first time.
The Star Fortress design is sort of salvageable if it is carrying concussion missiles like those seen on capital ships like the Victory I Star Destroyer in a vertical launch system. Or use a bunch of normal torpedo or concussion mission launchers fighters use and be the torpedo and missile pez dispenser from hell.

See now, this is the sort of cookie-cutter schlock I expected when I first heard The Rat was buying Lucas out and making their own trilogy. It would have made gangbusters, even with the accelerated schedule of them pushing out these movies.

Of course, we never got that.

I honestly despise Steven Universe currently (the movie didnt help on that matter) but Peridot is easily my favorite for actually not only being an entertaining character but actually having an arc going from villain to somewhat hero-ish (I do honestly think they kind of made her too nice as of late, kind of prefered when she had this darkness to her goodness if you catch my drift).

Oh and Pearl can rot in a salty pit. I just had to drop that.

But (to Disney's perspective) that would only sell to an existing audience that is dying off
It wouldnt sell to a NEW audience
