Should be noted a subpoena is not a court order. You can in theory refuse to comply and demand they come back WITH a court order. The problem with that is they come back with a court order. As @ElTorro pointed out it's in general a bad idea to not cooperate. You need a very good reason not too and then a willingness to go to the mat over it. Federal prosecutors dont like being denied.

The danger comes when you are the target and they are pretending you are not. This is why a lawyer is so critical for avoiding traps. I am not a lawyer btw, but am familiar with government investigations.

Most of the people in this thread have clearly never seen a subpoena for information before. This is what they look like. They say "John Haversham is commanded to appear..." and then later say "If you provide the following information, you do not have to appear." It means they just want the info and you can just hand over whatever documents and call it a day. You could appear if you wanted but I've never seen someone do it.

Given that the warrant canary is back, I assume this was the reason it disappeared. Null has always said he will comply with US court orders and it would be incredibly stupid for him to try and die on this hill against the world's biggest current superpower. He tells everyone to use VPNs for a reason, don't be a moron.

I assume the lawyer Jersh mentioned he was going to consult first in the warrant canary thread was consulted and said it's fine to post the subpoena, given that it's here now. I also assume any borderline competent lawyer would advise their client to comply with it.

Probably useless to speculate, but I wonder what is going on here in regards to why they are looking at charging "Fagg0t" (wew). A couple things come to mind bearing in mind that Zion Don's DOJ is super heavy handed on right wingers.

1. "Fag0t" got in some minor punchup or broke some other minor law knowingly or unknowingly and they want to upgrade the charges (rightly or more likely wrongly) to a hate crime/terrorist plot. This is analogous to what happened to James Fields and his challenger of peace because he shared a few boomer as well as Hitler memes. This one assumes the government already knows who "Fag0t" is I guess.

2. They are looking for accomplices and believe it is possible that "Fag0t" is one. I don't have all the info. I guess it's possible it should be investigated for reasons beyond my knowledge. The IP address would be the most useful here as actual info on the guy rather than as some kind of supporting evidence as in my other possibilities. I find it hard to imagine this would be the case unless they had some important info on another pseudonym that possibly belongs to them.

3. They believe they have uncovered some kind of terrorist plot they think "Fag0t" is part of and want to use this as evidence (which is a tactic that feels unjust to me since sharing info about something else isn't illegal and shouldn't be used to prejudice the jury). This one assumes the government already knows who "Fag0t" is or knows some other pseudonyms they go by I guess.

4. This is one of the test cases coming through the pipe for painting right wing dissidents who discuss and disseminate info about happenings like this as members of a terrorist network aiding and abetting one another then charging them for it. The Jews seem super mad and paranoid and have been actively pushing for stuff like this rather successfully. This charging for nothing deal is similar to the RAM case and some of the other charges people caught at Charlottesville or even some Proud Boy events (for defending themselves or at worst engaging in mutual combat).
