I thought he was semi-cancelled because he knew about allegations of sexual misconduct, but then he was un-cancelled because of the massive fundraiser for Mermaids UK.

And fuck Geoff for all his exceptional takes on Canadian politics; Singh wants to make Canada a net importer of energy, while welcoming in 300k immigrants per year.

There was something more recent, it's in his thread. It's something so absurdly petty that my brain melted itself in order to purposefully forget it. If I recall correctly, something along the lines of him featuring a quote from some pornstar for 2 seconds on video, when said pornstar had said something vaguely microaggressive unrelated to the quote, therefore everyone's favorite antifa shill needed to be cancelled for such an egregiously un-pc outburst.
EDIT: Looks like it was Contrapoints that actually did it, but hbomberguy is getting cancelled for not joining in the cancelling.

That was Hbomberguy? I thought that was Contrapoints. Or did both of them have problematic pornstars in their videos? Was that meant to be the next big breadtuber trend, pornstar guests? Poor Quinton would have had to settle for another sex doll.

So today my friend who’s into fighting games was lamenting on how stale the Dragonball FighterZ meta has become. I then realized that Geoff’s video about how it was going to “save anime fighters” wasn’t just wrong, but literally the exact opposite thing happened. Has there been any other instances of this happening?

The only ones I can think of off the top of my head are:
“Dragonball FighterZ will save anime fighting games!” -> The playerbase is currently hemorrhaging due to a stale meta and boring to watch gameplay.

“Smash Bros. will run out of steam after FighterZ releases.” -> Smash Ultimate becomes the most watched game in the history of Evo (the biggest fighting game tournament in the world) as well getting the most entrants out of any game in its history. Also, at 15 Million units sold, Smash Ultimate has become the highest selling fighting game of all time.

“Re;Creators is a modern classic that will be talked about for years to come.” -> Now the only time people mention Re;Creators it’s to point out how Geoff was wrong.

Geoff is quite literally emotionally handicapped and unable to fathom that his opinions aren't hard facts. He truly can't understand why SAO is popular despite the fact that he dislikes it, why anime fighters are niche, and why smash bros ultimate sold over 15 million and counting despite the fact that he personally doesn't like it. If he likes something, then it's a FACT it's going to do phenomenally, and if he dislikes something, it's a FACT it's going to flop, reality be damned. The thought he might be wrong about anything at all has never crossed his mind, at least in the entire time he's had his channel. Hell, maybe I just stumbled on his main gripe with capitalism.

Brian Griffin is probably more accurate. He has the terrible at everything he does and awkward romance that can only end by going down in flames parts down, but he's not really a disgusting pig slob like dsp. He's also at least enough aware of his lack of talent to hire people to do all of his editing for him, rather than point a camcorder at his screen so he wouldn't have to edit an audio and video file together.
