Also, sort by recent to see a trans-identified female say she thinks gender reveal parties are cute only to immediately have a male troon start huffing and puffing about how evil and transphobic they are and how she's wrong with the only authority he has being "I'm a transwoman and I hate them!"

Putting forward a theory: Troons only hate gender reveal parties because traditionally (not sure about these days?) they were mostly something the mom did and are very female-focused, not unlike baby showers.

I imagine it's also some sort of distaste for the whole "Someone is labelling me without my permission" idea where the declaration of a gender comes in. That said, acting as if any parent who celebrates their new childs gender is some sort of monster and then treating them as such even in the midst of a family death shows a complete lack of humanity.

I kind of get that, I guess, but like... "gender reveal parties" aren't actually about gender, they're about sex. It's about telling your friends and family if you're having a boy or a girl.

I mean, I know the troons object because "what if that boy or girl is convinced by an old pedo troon at the age of eight that they want to be permanently sterilized and have their bits operated on until they have no sexual function" but like...

idek guys. I think gender reveal parties can be tacky as hell (when they buy into gross gender stereotypes and crap esp) but it's a cute idea and either way it's really not appropriate to insert your opinions of this stuff onto a discussion of a woman who just DIED.
