That being said, his rating for this one specifically threw me a bit too. It honestly sounded like he had some earnest praise for the first half, and then just found the second half formulaic. So who knows, maybe he was just grumpy when he decided on the score or something.

Agreed.

1 = pretty much absolutely offensive even if it has EVERY element you enjoy
2-4 = flawed, but totally passable IF you like the actors/theme
5 = a great movie if you like the theme/ect or are bored, the default movie if you arn't a picky snob
6-8 = stands out and could be enjoyed by anyone
9 = absolutely a classic, might not be ENJOYED by everyone, but is undeniably timeless and should be viewed even as a chore because it will relate something unique about the human soul or even just elevate the art of film making.
10 = a perfect film that might not even exist, a 9 with no flaws.

The problem is that adam will give fucking legolas pro skater the highest score possible. His ratings are all over the place and biased by his bizarre taste of snooty bs and simultaneous disney junk food. Like gushers and filet mignon.

So there seems to be two kinds of YMS reviews. "[Title] - YMS" amounts to a longer quickie and "YMS: [Title]" which are the long-form reviews that go in-depth, look at interviews, and so on.
He has stated in the past that he wants to make movies but I'm not seeing much of that. Not even a short film or a sketch.

Aristotle said "We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit." Adam repeatedly makes quickies, and so that's what he is. Adam repeatedly watches movies, so that's what he is. Adam repeatedly does research for his bigger "YMS: " productions, so that's what he is. Adam pours hours into his "Best Of" lists, and so that's what he is. Adam doesn't make films, and he's so stuck in this YouTube thing I doubt he ever will, so he's not a filmmaker. This YouTube career is just a slow march towards nothing. Does he even have anything in production? Film script? Shot-list? Even an elevator pitch? Any plans whatsoever?

It's unrelated to any film plans, but he did say on a tweet that he was working on an album (that was supposed to be released in 2018, according to a 2017 update video), but he's so busy with the YMS stuff, I'd be surprised if it ever came out.

So the next full YMS review is going to be on the new Lion King, which he hasn't even seen yet. I assume at least 10% of it will be about how his husbando, Scar, doesn't look as attractive. He's still talking about how much he wants to fuck him, as of 6 days ago in his Pokemon LP. He's also making a 13 hour long commentary of 13 Reasons Why.

The thing I hate about him is that he picks movies or shows that are 100% worthy of derision but then chooses the most asinine reasons to nitpick. I remember in his review of the horror movie Frozen he spent nine minutes ranting about breath visibility in cold temperatures instead of criticizing, oh I don't know, the nonsensical story and shitty acting.

His thing for Scar is so creepy. I hate when people make their fetishes so obvious (Dobson for example), and it especially disgusts me when it's centered on something that should be for kids and their families. Scar is a cool character and his depiction in the remake was lame as fuck, but we all know Adam isn't going to care about that, only if Scar's computer-generated ass is ripe for drooling over.

Same. Adam is easily one of my favourite YouTubers, i am surprised to see a thread on him. I was aware he was a gay furry but defending beastiality? A shame. Also he needs to start making proper YMS reviews again. Last one i believe was his one on M. Night's "The Visit". I dunno about everybody else, but i have had enough of quickies. He needs to start putting the effort back into REAL YMS material, that's his best work.
Aside from that, i can't say much bad against him. I like him and am struggling to class him as a cow. He's not really exceptional. Feels....
