The 'fast internet' mythos is hilarious to me. What is this, 1999?

Here's the truth:

Yuck, transparent background, sorry about that.
What you can still see though is that the average speeds in Connecticut are the same as Washington state. If he wanted faster speeds, he could have just moved a half hour north to Rhode Island.
And if it truly was internet speeds that mattered, as well as no state taxes, he would have moved here to this shithole state of Texas, since gigabit fiber is everywhere.

And even that infographic is misleading, because it's talking about gigabit availability per capita. If you want to know which states have gigabit speeds, it's pretty simple, here I edited a map.
550px-Map_of_USA_with_state_names_2.svg.png

That's not 100% I'm sure, but all of those states have gigabit speeds. And they have gigabit speeds because they all have one thing in common: the states in red are where the fattest backbone pipes run through.

Not only that, he's not even living in one of the counties where the internet is fastest in Washington state. It won't embed, so here's the link for Washington state at BroadbandNow.com.
He's in King county, which over 99% have access to 100mbps, but only 41% have access to gigabit. If he wanted to be truly thrifty, he would have moved somewhere besides the Seattle area in Washington, like Asotin country which is cheaper and 94% of people there have access to 1gb or more.

DSP has said that only his current condo can get internet fast enough for him to stream. At least, compared to Connecticut.

I honestly don't believe, based on how much we know DSP tries to avoid actual human interaction, that he would ever voluntarily move to a non-gated community. He's probably convinced himself that if he moves then we will organize our own housewarming party at his new address.

Plus, selling the condo would be an admission of failure, which he cannot do.

So wait... DSP can sell his stupid condo, pay off the CT condo, probably pay off his debts and tax issues, AND still have money to put a down payment on a new place and get a new mortgage?‽‽‽?‽?‽‽

Why the fuck hasn't he done this? He HAS ALL THE ABILITY to fix his current situation.

Because he either is lying about his current situation or creates a situation where he thinks he can "force" his paypigs to help him.

As an extreme example, take a 60 year old person that demands that he/she can retire AND have their adult children take care of them. When the children refuse, the 60 year old will quit their job, sell their house, and spend all the money so that they can "force" their children to take them in or else they'll be homeless. Now, from the outside, we can say "well fuck 'em, play stupid games win stupid prizes". But when you've grown up for 30 years basically being told that you HAVE NO CHOICE other than to do what your parent says, you don't have that mental capability to even say no.

Here is an article on creating a sick system and keeping someone with you forever:

And then as you said, here is an article on the narcissist (DSP) whittling themselves down as well to keep his paypigs within that sick system:

Remember, DSP absolutely refuses to make any changes to help himself, even if he looks like a damn idiot in the process. He kept talking about how his bank account is overdrafted. Why not just turn autopay off? His credit is fucked, so why not just pay bills "late" when he gets his Twitch money? Why not just hold a "fundraiser" to pay off one credit card and then switch everything to autopay on that?

DSP is either lying or choosing to be stupid.

I just realized something (because I'm slow to make connections). DSP, a 37-year-old man, eats dinner at 4 PM?
I didn't really care about what time it is where Phil lives (until now) because I live in a completely different timezone and just lol

Ends 1st stream at 1:15 PM (or earlier), doesn't stream again until 6:45 PM. So this dude has roughly a 6 hour break between streams, yet he bitches about how he has NO free time whatsoever and needs to take a whole fucking day off to do laundries, do the dishes, clean Jasper's litterbox and go to Fred Meyer's.

What the fuck does he do during that 6 hours break? Watch wrestling while babysitting uploads and eats dinner? I can't even see how all that would take 6 hours. Going to Fred Meyer's would take roughly an hour if he doesn't waddle around like a dumbass and makes a shopping list beforehand to know what to buy

And Khet took a 2 week vacation, so he has no fucking excuse to not say he does not have time to spend with his soulmaid

Edit: Keep in mind, despite Phil being his own boss, he has no control over his schedule whatsoever. He has dinner at 4 PM because he has to, not because he wants to. He has a 6 hour break between streams because he has to, not because he wants to. If he needs to take care of something in the morning that takes roughly 1 - 2 hrs to do, he has to cancel both streams, not because he wantso, it's becausae he has to.

Close. To be fair, it's "only" a 3 hour break. But it's still a 3 hour break.

The Dark Dave's mirror actually conveniently keeps track of the local time during his streams. But on Saturday (just pulling a random day), DSP started his prestream at 10:45, started his actual game play at noon, went on break at 1:50, started again at 2:15, ended at 4:10, started again at I'll be generous and say 7, and finished at 9:15.

So not including his prestream, his typical schedule is:
11:45-1:45, 2:15 to 4:15, 7 to 9:15
or noon to 2, 2:30 to 4:30, 7 to 9:30.

Even if I wanted to be super generous and say his prestream counts as work AND not dock him for being late all the time, his actual schedule is pretty much
10:15 to 1:30, 2 to 4, 6:45 to 9.

That's the work schedule of a man desparate to save his house. But all the time he spends uploading video to Youtube (5 minutes maybe) and vaguely spending time doing things "behind the scenes" in his mind makes him work super hard and can't possibly work any harder dood.

In his mind, I bet he just sees his work day as 10:15 am to 9:15 pm and convinces himself that he works 11 hours per day as opposed to most "plebs" that ONLY work 8 hours per day.

TL;DR - DSP takes a 3 hour dinner break for no reason, especially since dinner is already cooked when his break starts.

Phil doesn't make 120k a year. After seeing all the spreadsheets and the like, I think people grossly over-calculate his income. Twitch streamers with twice his audience size don't make that much. I'd say his income fluctuates between 80-90k a year and given his independent health care, two properties, tax evasions, and not really having any valued assets, I'd say his financial troubles are likely fairly realistic. But he simply has to downgrade his lifestyle, not lose everything. His situation is very fixable. He just doesn't want to sacrifice anything, d00d. Phil could very comfortably live in a lower income tax state like a lot of streamers do.

Why the fuck hasn't he done this? He HAS ALL THE ABILITY to fix his current situation.
Because he HAS to beg to make money. He HAS to constantly be in a crisis or have some sob story to tug on people's heart strings, otherwise he won't get any money. He makes fuck all during his actual gameplay, it's only when he starts shamelessly asking for money that people feel obliged to tip him.

It's a bit of a paradox. Ironically, if DSP started doing well enough that he didn't need to beg any more with these elaborate, neverending pity me monologues, he'd stop doing well because the whales wouldn't drop huge sums on him anywhere near as often. So he'd be back to begging again in no time. I don't think Phil is some 9D chessmaster, I just think he realises that begging = money, normal gameplay/streamer shit = no money. It's like the way a cow doesn't understand what an electric fence is, but they know that if they go near it they get a shock.

I can confirm that Kansas has gigabit in the Wichita area.

So I'm going to guess on an over/under wager total for Jeff Anderson contributions today at around $175.50? Sound good?

(Leaning towards the over on the total as the winner.)

For me, it depends on what DSP raises prior to that.

I think Jeff will swoop in and hit the $1800 goal. Depends on how much is needed before the end of the night stream.

People always tend to take the highest possible valuation of things (such as his YouTube revenue) when they look at how much he's making.

While his tips/subs/patreon is accurate, he's not really making much compared to where someone his age 'should' be making in Seattle at this point in his "career".

The youtube revenue is likely nonexistent and the man's not even living in a low cost of living area, which is what most non-idiot streamers do.

And lets not forget he's supporting his part-time mall employee wife.

Phil's financial troubles will always be because more goes out than comes in, but it's not like he's making 'a lot' of money on the grift, he's barely staying afloat.

I’m sure there’s an estimate somewhere in the loans/savings/this thread. But I don’t really get the point you’re trying to make... he pretty much did this to himself

That the narrative that DSP makes a shit ton of money is essentially running a scam is pretty ridiculous. DSP is a middle of the road streamer that has a few whales that support him. His financial decisions of the past prove that he has been shit with money for years and years.

It’s not a narrative. It’s a fact. It’s documented. He steals roughly $10,000 a month. Why are you so unwillingly to accept that?

There have been months where he hardly makes that much. I'm unwilling to accept that someone as absolutely financially retarded as Phil who's viewer-base has been woefully inconsistent still managing to pull these those kinds of numbers. Like I said, the only time he has made that much money was when there are whales involved. These past two "emergencies" have proved that people aren't as willing to unleash the beast.

As you said, his situation is easily fixable; he simply has to downgrade his lifestyle. But he doesn't; instead, he manipulates/scams wheelchair symbols into giving him their minimum wage/disability checks. THAT'S why he absolutely deserves to lose everything he has.

But whales are always involved. Look, no one likes to admit that this piece of garbage brings in more money than they do, but he does. He doesn’t earn it like we do, just remember that. He straight up steals it. He makes more than twice what I make in a month. Do I care? Hell no because I earn my money and live within my means and have a good life. He makes 10k a month and is probably the most miserable piece of subhuman shit I’ve ever seen.

If so made 10k a month I’d have my home paid off in 2-3 years. He will never get out of the mountain of debt he has.

He would also claim that his internet was very unreliable and suffered constant outages, which is totally possible. I lived in a similar situation where my internet would o down pretty much every evening, but a friend 20 minutes away on the same provider had 0 issues and would achieve speeds of 150Mbps, while I would top out at 30.

So he didn't even need to leave the state to sort out his connection problems.

So you wouldn’t say putting a cat being a paywall is a scam? What about crying that you were going to lose your house and then moving a random lady in/going on vacation for a week/returning and asking for more money?
I don’t think being saying you’re in financial ruin and scamming are mutually exclusive

Just cause there are months where he doesn’t make as much for doing nothing doesn’t mean he’s still scamming. It’s possible to make a lot of money and spend a lot of money. You said it yourself he’s finanicially irresponsible
