Exchanged a few shallow sentences recently on the subject with an acquaintance. They seemed to be under the mistaken impression that being transgender is a singular thing. It's hard to keep up with this bs and it changes a lot, but the current party line seems to be that gender dysphoria is a medical condition that arises from your body "knowing" it's the opposite sex but finding the wrong parts, causing something like phantom limb syndrome in amputees. Saying that you absolutely need to feel gender dysphoria to be trans makes you a mean truscum, but the average troon will still typically give some version of the biological mismatch narrative if you ask why they're transitioning. The big no-no is saying that it's purely a mental illness or a delusional thought.
But it's worth noting that the cutting edge ultra-woke have an almost religious concept of gender now - like it's some kind of intrinsic life energy thing and you just KNOW what gender your soul is somehow, and that totally makes you that gender, and physical bodies are irrelevant. Obviously that's incompatible with the notion that you have to get plastic surgery or you'll die, so there's probably some infighting on the horizon.

There are definitely MtFs who complain about lack of male attraction, like the creator of Assigned Male, but the crucial difference is that straight men are less easy to bully/coerce into a relationship than lesbian women. Lots of lesbians have been immersed in general lgbqt+ rhetoric, which has people yelling at them that trans women are women and that not wanting to suck a trannies dick makes them into a terf. You hear more FtM's complaining about cis lesbians because they know cis lesbians can be bullied into submission. Trying to convince a straight guy he should suck that girlpenis is a much harder task, because straight men are less involved in lgbqt than lesbians, and are generally more assertive in their preferences. Trying to guilt straight guys into accepting the girldick is a futile task.

This is the number one issue, really. Everyone believes all people are trans for the same reason. If you take 5 minutes to look at the actual stories of transpeople, it becomes really obvious there are different "types" and they shouldn't be treated the same. But it's been part of the trans agenda to erase that fact for a long time.
You are not quite correct about the party linr. The description you gave is how most people in thr medical/psych profession are presented with trans. But that is actually not the trans party line. In fact, if you try to say transsexualism is a specific disorder/condition, you are a bigot. The party line is now "trans is an identity" and anyone can opt in with zero effort -- but somehow, at the same time, need surgery to be "authentic". They don't have a good justification for why this isn't just elective surgery, so in front of complaints they may fall back onto blurry "ladybrain" concepts, with the intention to confuse you into thinking they mean transsexualism.
Edit: worth noting, the reason for this lying/manipulation is that historically, only HSTS were considered "real" transsexuals, and non-passing AGPs were denied. By lying to make your story seem like a "real" transsexual you were fast-tracked to hormones/surgery. This is documented in the literature.
