Yes, but it’s one of those rare instances where a gay guy played the homophobic system to his advantage. Andre Melendez’s brother has pointed on numerous occasions that no one really pursued justice for his brother because of his lifestyle and just wanted the story buried, which is why Alig basically got away with a slap on the wrist
