Star Wars Griefing Thread (SPOILERS) - Safety off

If they're ever called out for that by the media, they would defend attacking fans/theory videos with, "B-but politics and controversy sell! We were just trying to drum up interest and make the most money possible", as the ex-Deadspin editor Barry Nuthugger did before he got shitcanned for insubordination.
Nothing interesting in toys
Kill of the fan interest in the EU
provide no oversite or tie in to SWTOR
Give new EU to Chuck Wendig tier writers
Have Marvel cheap out on tie in comics
Attack Fan Theory videos
Attack the audience that disagrees

what did you think was going to happen?

A new audience would've sprouted up from the ground and displaced the existing one. They thought audiences were replaceable.

Also they're commie faggots who only believe in serving themselves, and that the world revolved around them. It's no wonder they identify so much with a Mary Sue character like Rey.

So here is a secret of SW

1977:
You had young 20 somethings and folks who were deep into 1950s-1970s sci fi literature as your core beginning audience
George made the toys and sold them to the kids of said audience [or their younger siblings]. This became the foundation
1999 (or 1998 whichever year it was)
The OG 20 somethings are in their 40s and 50s, Their kids and nieces and nephews got fed delicious SW. And people like me had kids. They got fed the PT era SW product [though most of that was bad]
2014 (or whenever)
The generational cycle is damaged [no effort made to get the fandom passed on]

and the tradition gets broken by disney

I think the real damage was done by Disney. We were sold a false bill of goods by online media and a popular consensus among online fans. Not completely wrong, but blown out of proportion and somewhat out of touch. Nevertheless, it became viral.

For as bad as the PT may have been, it still sold toys, merch, and videogames without truly ruining the past. It did resonate with a younger audience, and it was still fundamentally Star Wars, despite not pleasing much of the older audience.

2014-2015 is where we really got everything the PT was accused of: raping of my childhood, breaking the lore, trying to replace the old audience with a new one, etc., etc.

New HFM video

"Why did you have to do it, George?
You may have been a lucky fool,
But you were our fool.
Now we live under an evil stepmother,
in the ruins of the house you built."

Now this is poetry.

"Why did you have to do it, George?

My theory? Red Tails (2012).

My personal conspiracy theory, with no supporting evidence, is that George Lucas secretly directed this film, and/or took over the editing. His plan was to wait for the critical and box-office success and then triumphantly reveal that he was the creative genius behind it.

After it sank under a firestorm of derision, he was forced to come to grips with the fact he never made a good movie without Marcia.

There is also the aspect of world building you see, Im a guy that pays a LOT of attention to that shit and the prequel trilogy expanded the horizons the OT established, like wow, there is a CITY Planet! I wonder where it is and what happened to it in the OT! We got many new characters, powers, skills and look...as much as the dialogue could have been improved, I still got what George was trying to do with them. I personally would have taken different decisions but you see, I dont see his decisions are lore breaking and insulting to the fanbase. As bad things could be, we could always be comfortable with the fact that Luke would fix things at the end.

Now? The sequel Trilogy's lore building is...is...URGH! Sorry but I really gotta express my colossal disappointment. I have seen fanfictions with better world building, or that at least respected what was established. The sequel trilogy is all about tearing down what came before, to the fucking point Jarhead Johnson made EP8 all about destroying the past.
But what we have left? The OT gave us a galaxy, the PT increased that to an UNIVERSE and the ST reduced that to a freaking tiny sandbox. You cant get invested in the characters nor the universe.
Disney has destroyed the wonder and magic of Star Wars. That sense of the unknown is gone, the force is just a whatever power for whatever characters to use.

And now, what they're likely go to do next is keep doubling down on the ST (The Mandalorian & the upcoming "Legend of Luke Skywalker" manga are the most recent examples) while cannibalizing deleted scenes, cutting-room-floor content, and EU material for new shit. They've already been doing this for the Marvel comics and for the ST. Episode IX's many selling points are just recycling literal "garbage" that was cut from the OT/PT.

We get it guys, Star Wars is dead, you are trying CPR on a rotting corpse. Everyone has returned to their miserable lives by now, you can stop.

They'll reboot it.
That's what they do.
THAT'S ALL THEY DO!

YOU CAN'T STOP THEM.
THEY'LL WADE THROUGH YOU
REACH DOWN YOUR POCKET
AND PULL YOUR FUCKING WALLET OUT

Shit like this is why the farms are funnier than 95% of "commiedies" nowadays.
:story:

TLJ is around the time the trick stopped working. Foreign audiences are getting smarter. But as Joker has shown they arent needed [unless you want a cherry on top]

Joker's quoted budget is 55-70 million. Even taking the big number, and using the "double for marketing" rule of thumb, that's still $140 mil total expenditure. Disney Wars costs... well, a little bit more than that.

I actually would welcome that, a reboot would be way easier to seperate from proper Star Wars than the current situation of Disney aggressively trying to stain everything that others have created in its own colors.

The point is 6 movies exist where china took them from losers to profit.

Most movies made money in china ontop of already making money globally

I'm more open to it for Terminator than Star Wars, unless the "reboot" is of the Sequel Trilogy.

In theory it's a fine idea for a struggling franchise: wipe the slate clean and start over. But you know with Disney & the current Hollywood climate that the reboot is going to be shit from the start. They'll chimp out on the writers/director in favor of cranking up the CG visuals, resulting in woke pandering & propaganda nobody but soyboy media elites want, and they'll attack fans or the disinterested public for not throwing their money at them.

And that's assuming it's a movie and not a Disney+ exclusive show. In the latter case, I assume they'd have even more free reign to shit it up until the well runs dry. No good entertainment will be coming from Disney unless it's news reports and YouTube videos about their inevitable decline (and the decline of the access media that props them up):

You may be confusing malevolence for incompetence.

They clearly traced everybody's faces (badly in Leia's case; the left side of her face is too flat), and BB-8 is too oblong in the picture.

Reminder that Marvel has worthless editors, either because of laziness or for fear of being accused of bigotry.
