OK, but, as you said, they would have come after him anyway, and the affidavit certainly didn't make it better.
I would argue he would have been much better staying silent, or at least, it wouldn't have make things worst.
And then, he could also have perjured himselft like the idiots who gave Moronica their affidavits.

In regard to the different options he had, I still think he simply did what he think was right.
He could also have been pressured by BHBH as he breached a contract, but I don't think it's how it went.
I'm leaning more toward BHBH asking him an affidavit while reassuring him that Vic would not sue him.
From Vic perspective, KC was bullied to cancel him, and they still took him back.
He probably isn't angry at Slatosch, that doesn't suit the character.

I'm going to say it. the more I examine this, the more convinced that ex parte fuckery is going on between the defendants camp and Chupps.

I've been pondering the same thing. Lemongasp clearly knew something when he gave nick the old pedogrin. I think the most likely route isn't a direct ex parte thing, though. Lemoine and Grigsby are tight, and it's not unreasonable for Chupp to have a passing acquaintance with Grigsby in turn. Even if he doesn't, though, all Grigsby has to do is wave the idea of unfavourable coverage in the Dallas Morning News, which Chupp and his cohort will all still read, and then drop hints that it can be more favourable if he just rolls over for Lemon's side.

The counter to this is that he dismissed Lemoine's dumpster fire slideshow, but at the same time, he showed extraordinary partiality toward Lemoine throughout the case, and he - as others have observed - repeated nearly verbatim the words of Rial and co in his "we have to heal animes" hearing before the mediation.

Lemon is a shitstain idiot, but even he's not dumb enough to just write letters to the judge telling him how to rule. If he's having undue influence on the court, he's doing it mafia style, through plausibly deniable paths. Chupp seems dumb enough to go along with the pressure, based on his record.

But since then he's gone back to "muh healing" and for some reason still considers people who implied he was just a conspiracy nut with a warped sense of reality "friends".

I was iffy on him at the start because who in their right mind sees a group of "friends" absolutely wrecking another "friend" to the point of being medicated and goes "I know, I'll write a statement in which the downtrodden and unpersoned friend will have to admit to being a sex addict! There is a very question that is hugely misleading in the transcript.
I don't remember which one it was, but at some point, Lemoine (I think) asked Vic a long question, and if you just read to the transcript, you'll get it wrong.
Because in the video, you can see that mid sentence, Vic thought it was over and started answering over Lemoine finishing his question.
So the transcript makes you think Vic was answering the whole question while the video shows he was only answering its first part.

I don't think there's some under the table deal going on with Chupp or if he's concerned about negative press (he's done considerably more exceptional things with zero fucks given), but I do think he's trying to forget about this case existing. I would too. Doesn't change that he's exceptional.

I think the conspiracies are because that even for a lazy fucker who loves kicking the can down the road and shifting cases to appeals so he can get to his scotch, Chupp is being extremely unprofessional according to the theorists.

We're bored. Lemoine is clearly up to some kind of fuckery that is beyond the pale of Weeb wars. Something even lay people have doubts about because it seems like an ethics violation.

I don't believe that Chupp is the kind of man to care much about the ethics but a sense of decorum must be maintained. Otherwise Chupp could just jerkoff on the bench, leave and let Lemoine run the court.
