I would argue he would have been much better staying silent, or at least, it wouldn't have make things worst.
And then, he could also have perjured himselft like the idiots who gave Moronica their affidavits.
In regard to the different options he had, I still think he simply did what he think was right.
He could also have been pressured by BHBH as he breached a contract, but I don't think it's how it went.
I'm leaning more toward BHBH asking him an affidavit while reassuring him that Vic would not sue him.
From Vic perspective, KC was bullied to cancel him, and they still took him back.
He probably isn't angry at Slatosch, that doesn't suit the character.
