No one defending Gawker has ever explained to me how posting a video of Hulk Hogan having sex (which he claims was taken without his consent) is anything other than revenge porn. If you go search for revenge porn stories on Gawker and Gizmodo there are a ton of articles advocating laws to put people in jail for posting sexually explicit material nonconsensually, but when Gawker posts stolen, nonconsensual sex tapes I'm supposed to feel deeply upset that they got shut down in a lawsuit.

Having a cokehead editor who says in a videotaped deposition that the only time he wouldn't post a sex tape is if it involved a 4 year old is also not the best idea if you don't want to get sued.

The way I remember it was that the 'rich monster' was a closeted gay man whose career was put at risk when Gawker outed him back in like 2007.
