Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Chuck has less spine than a jellyfish and seems to be delusional about the whole situation, if was Ty I'd be watching him like a hawk. Chuck is the kind of spastic who talks to Lemoine without a lawyer in good faith, how can one man be so utterly weak to think this peace and love shit is actually going to help? He's even spouting a repackaged version of the infamous "Vic should just go away for a year or so and he'd be welcomed back!" by claiming everyone should just remain quiet and let things "heal".

Imagine considering Chuck a dear friend when he thinks you're a sex addict and is still cosying up with the people who tried to uttery ruin you in everyway, meanwhile a dude you'd never met before from Minnesota set up a GFM for you to fight back and helped keep you from being unpersoned. I'd throw Chucks ass on a trash heap for even still entertaining the thought of talking to those scumbags on kickvic.

Hes a flat earther?

He believes that reality is run like a video game. If you are running around your house the earth can be flat because you will never catch the horizon. The game only has to render the shit immediately around you.

If you hop in a spaceship, the video game will render image "earth.JPEG" as a round sphere as it approaches the horizon.

Your brain would never be able to tell the difference because it relies on information from your senses which can be fooled. The trick is making sure the transition is so seamless that you don't notice.

(I've had similar philosophical musings about determinism. At certain points you have free will to make a choice and once you select one, all the events that happen afterward are predetermined, reality leaves the minor details up to you. See: Any RPG, Fallout series, Until Dawn, Grand Theft Auto, Etc)

Listen, Chuck. I'm one of the nicer Kiwis on this thread, even though I agree with a lot of what these people are saying. If you're reading this, at least hear me out.

Do yourself a favor and please lay off of Twitter for a while or deactivate your account, because what you're doing is a mistake. I understand your intentions are good, that you genuinely want the anime community to get better and that you care just as much for Vic as you do for some of the voice actors at Funimation. But you are wrong here.

You are making things worse for yourself and worse for Vic. There is no reasoning with those who clearly have no intention of "healing" the community and there's even less of a reason to give them wrist slaps while criticizing the side that's defended you. What you're doing, far from helping Vic, is hurting him.

You need to step back and rethink your surroundings. If you're a true friend like you say you are, then you should not be "pozloading my neghole", because engaging in conversations with these fools is like a poking a hornet's nest with a stick. It's not like the good old days of "kumbaya my lord". The sad but eternal truth is that these people have no desire to settle down and talk matters; they will do to you what they've already done to Vic - if not them, certainly the other side that you're bafflingly criticizing.

So Chuck, please end this Twitter discussion thing now. There's no shame in learning from your mistakes, but do that before your mistakes turn into disasters.

However in the negative context of what Chuck is saying is more in line with what Neil Kaplan implied some VA's behaved like in his former handlers Emily's statement on instagram. From what I've seen and heard about Vic's sex life he's been a playa and a gentleman at best and a horndog at worst. However he's not been a creep unlike Sabrat Weebstein. What Chuck has done is a textbook example of slut shaming, So what if you use your fame to get laid, it's just a crouch that people will laugh at you for if you over use it and if Chuck has a problem with Vic fucking around then he should keep it off the record. It sounds really dumb to blow Vic's sex life out of proportion like that.

And that is why I am on the brink of just being a Vic supporter instead of a member of ISWV, I was posting those idiots tweets here to show that is EXACTLY what is happening. What that says is that they are not loyal to Vic and would kiss the asses of the most vile women on the planet because some misguided believe in forgiveness which is the first steps of becoming an SJW, having a fucked up sense of right and wrong alongside a twisted sense of conviction. Well, it's clear they are traitors to their own movement and they are too dumb to realise that until it is too late.

Nah, anyone with a brain would know that these fuckers will use you before tossing you into the fire. Chuck's failed to stay in the camp he's chosen so I am just gonna watch as his autistic peacemaking blows up in his face and Imma laugh and say 'told ya so'.

Chuck is conservative. It's really not surprising at all he would slut shame. What's ridiculous is the people who consider themselves woke and liberated are also slut shaming Vic.

Is Elise Baughman still working at Funi? Because otherwise all of those actors are ironically ones that got replaced in the Dragon Ball dub
Interestingly enough, Elise actually follows Vic’s twitter. I just checked this morning on who follows Vic.
Edit: Chuck Huber does still as well, along with Caitlin Glass. And even more interestingly, Brian Drummond, aka Ocean Dub Vegeta.

There's actually a number of voice actors who are following Vic, but the ones that stood out the most are the following:

Now this is interesting for obvious reasons. If you remember from the deposition, Vic mentioned McFarland and Clinkenbeard as two of the people whom he felt didn't like him and wanted him gone from Funimation. Also, even though Vic considered Chris Ayres a friend, Ayres has been liking and retweeting a few pro-Monica tweets after Chupp dismissed all the claims, and his brother Greg dislikes Vic. Yet all three of them are following him.

On the other hand, we should all take this with face value because those three might be covering their tracks. For example, Kara Edwards, I think, was following Vic at one time earlier this year, but immediately unfollowed him when she was called out for it. Also, Chris recently had lung surgery, so obviously one's life takes precedence over social media.

I do have one more tidbit to add, though. Not too long ago, Sonny Strait was following Vic (even though he and Sean Shambles created that disgusting parody video portraying Vic as a pedophile), yet most recently, I don't see him as one of the followers. Kinda makes you wonder...

EDIT: I made a boo-boo. I said earlier that Sonny Strait wasn’t following Vic. He in fact is. Sorry for the mistake.

Gosh wouldn’t it be the funniest plot twist of Colleen or Mike was a source for Nick. I’m not saying they are but just imagine the comedy factor. Especially Colleen. Monica would be so devestated. What I wouldn’t give to be a fly on the wall at Funimation. I’d love to know whose been selling these snakes out. The entertainment it would fill me would sustain for years to come.

Edit: You have to admit though, Brian Drummond following Vic is extremely interesting to me. Funi actors have been douches to Ocean dub actors before (Sean Schemmel and his rage boner against all the English Goku’s, especially Peter Kelmis). I find it fascinating the OceanDub actor for Vegeta is following Vic.

I don't think Kirby is following Vic. Hmmm

Wasn't Neil Kaplan in his own shit recently being accused? Pot meet kettle.
He’s not, and neither are Kelamis, Naldony or Vollmer. But I think what stands out the most is who is. The fact that Funimation voice actors like Colleen, Mike, Chris Ayres, Caitlin, Aaron, Chuck, Swasey and Hebert are still following Vic while in a lawsuit against their company is very telling. Personally, I don’t think we should dwell on this too much, but this is a very interesting situation.

It's interesting that a bunch of VAs dropped Vic on Twitter after the dismissal, or started leaning heavier into retweeting/liking crap. Really makes you think they don't believe what they're saying or doing, and are just following orders. Like when the case was 'dismissed', it was a sign to everyone that Funi and the rest won (not just the case), and there would be no unseating them or upsetting the power dynamic.

I'm getting at dual points here that ultimately add up to the same thing. First: people who unfollowed Vic or jumped on the bandwagon suddenly at the DMN article and dismissal very likely don't believe what they're shilling, or they'd have done it before. They also likely unfriended him because someone told them to do so. (A someone who supposedly has no control over their social media.) Second: This coincides with Huber freaking out and starting to act weird. If the others haven't stuck their necks out and aren't Vic's friends (although they don't think he's guilty of what he's accused of), then their reaction to the same prompting and threats will be different from the person who's already lit a bomb on his career and is Vic's friend.

It seems very telling in this twitter behavior that a wannabe Anime Don is causing all of this.

I’m a little bummed that I missed the Grigsby hate party.
Let me just say this. Grigsby is too sheltered as an employee to understand what is happening to Vic from a professional level. Modern economics have already passed her by and she has made no effort to understand a new world. To say nothing of thinking she were standing up for Monica and Jaime instead of ignoring their ridiculous treatment by Funimation.
If Grigsby were a contractor, instead of a metro employee, with the same poor writing, warmed over reporting, and lack of context. she’d be begging for scraps under a bridge.
