captions cut off because I was originally just fucking around with no intention of turning this into anything or sharing it but then i couldn't stop myself, sorry, this became another timeline. I do have her whole social media backed up including captions and comments in case she decides to nuke it after this.
For the first few months of posting it was just the sad walrus being sad and/or hanging out with her friends. boring.
May 23, 2018: new NG drain and NJ feeding tubes placed, both in the same nostril and taped to the same cheek.
July 13, 2018: "escaped from hospital" #piccline. No mention of what she's in for, but the NJ tube is now secured with "don't fuck with this" tape.
July 19, 2018: her birthday. sporting the classic "sad walrus" NJ feeding and NG drain tubes in different nostrils, a PICC, and a subq line, #gastroparesis. By the 28th she's posting from home. The rash on her stomach is Erythema ab igne also known as "hot water bottle rash" or "toasted skin syndrome". It's from prolonged and repeated exposure to a heating pad or other heat source. Permanent, slight risk of developing skin cancer from it, but otherwise benign.
August 2-3: using the awesome power of math, we can determine that this was the day she started the 412-day hospitalization.
August 6:
Peripheral IV woes, has to have a line placed in her foot. Claims it took six hours, eleven attempts, seven people, and an ultrasound to get a patent line. No mention of why she's hospitalized.
August 8, 2018: Unsure if this is an NG tube and an iPod earbud or an NG and an NJ in the same nostril. Now has the "hey, I said stop fucking with this" securement tape.
August 9, 2018: only peripheral lines, only an NG tube, normal securement.
August 10, 2018: PICC line inserted, now has a fun new sepsis-portal to play with, the plastic bucket by her shoulder looks like it's connected to her NG tube to catch the grossness leaking out of it.
August 11, 2018: Still only an NG, now with "seriously don't fuck with this" tape again.
August 15, 2018: Mystery casts appear, NJ is back and now it's bridled. Until now she's not really explained the disappearing NJ although later she claims she vomited it up frequently. However bridling is done when the patient is pulling on the tube, and it seems like this would be a bad idea if she was legitimately vomiting it up.
August 21: new mystery casts, #sepsis and a person in the comments asking how casts help with an infection, lol. The thing on her lap is a niki pump, a syringe driver for delivering a dose of whatever is in the syringe inside of it at a controlled rate.
August 25: same mystery casts, PICC access is now taped to the back of her arm where she can't get at it
August 29: Casts gone
September 16: PICC access is clipped to her shoulder where she can reach it, no longer bridled
October 5: Sepsis #2 and she's cuddling up with a bag full of stomach juices (she reposted this months later without the emoji)

October 7: sepsis, urinary infection, kidney infection, lung infection, pneumonia, influenza. Claims her mom wrote this for her because of memory loss, so she would know how many things were killing her. mostly redundant, as in pneumonia is a lung infection, a kidney infection would fall under "urinary"...
October 8: claims she wasn't aware her friend came to visit her at all.
October 11: "after a week I'm finally awake and able to communicate" apparently forgets she's been updating social media all along. Now says she had "blood infections and severe sepsis" along with the things on the written list.
November 16: Peripheral IV in her foot again, suggesting PICC-chan is now gone
December 12: punch biopsy, rash of unknown origin, piss tube, and someone in the comments was talking about how Paige didn't know if she'd make it to Christmas. She sure showed us.
December 17: NG is gone
December 23: 140 days in the hospital. By this calculation her admission date was August 5.
December 30: She is now claiming that she has had five bouts of sepsis in 2018. Says this is 150 days in hospital. Admission date by this calculation: August 3. Reflecting on the fact that she is going to ring in the new year in the hospital, as she has celebrated every holiday and birthday for the past six months.
That same day she's out and about with her family from abroad, with a dramatic caption about how she thought she wouldn't live to see them again.
January 4, 2019: ultrasound of a mass in her chest
January 6: now crying because pissing through a tube isn't as fun as she thought it would be. Complaining about scans and cath changes and how everything is inconvenient for her. Complains she vomits every day. Note the lack of bridle.
January 8: the cast photo with a caption referring to "158 days... I've had sepsis 6 times." A week ago it was five times. Admission date by this calculation: August 1. Also claims 6 PICCs and an attempted 7th, 5 NJ replacements, can't control her bladder and is "bowel prep dependent" which is a novel way of saying "laxative addicted due to constant opiate use and IV antibiotics killing off all my gut flora". Also showing off that non-invasive ventilation style.
January 10: "vomited up" her NJ again. Just FYI some bulimics (and munchies) learn to purge
"hands-free" by flexing certain muscles and I am pretty damn sure this is what Paige is doing to keep dislodging her njs. I'm also sure her doctors know it and that's why she's only sometimes bridled - she's not yanking it out that way. She's just making herself violently retch until it comes out of position.
January 12: NJ tube with "don't fuck with it" tape and now a grip-lok securement on her cheek which I have literally never seen in all my years staring at betubed munchies and ana-chans. It's to keep from accidentally dislodging and I don't know that it does much to prevent deliberate tampering.
January 20: gone again, naturally.
January 26: betchy'all wanted to see her piss bag again. Now discussing a suprapubic in the near future. First time tagging #ehlersdanlossyndrome
January 27: marking 11 days without a tube, claiming she cannot keep food or drink or even her vital medications down. Really pushing for that GJ.
January 30: still no nose hose, still claiming she pukes up anything that goes in her mouth, gets a bunch of new subq lines.
February 8: Comparing before losing her tube and after three weeks tubeless, claiming she hasn't kept a single thing down in the whole three weeks. Dehydration and weight loss are getting worse and hinting that she might have sepsis again.
February 12: marking 200 days since she last stood up and walked. Now making a physio plan that will get her walking again. "my amazing physios have been helping me and trying to get those signals to my legs to hold up but sadly no standing has happened in over 6 months." Translation: I have been wasting my physios' time for six months pretending my legs don't work.

February 14: after complaining for a month about being tubeless and her doctors not taking any action, now complains that she's going to be tubed and making it sound like she was deliberately holding off on getting tubed again to see if she could recover any stomach function once she started eating again. Real reason she's complaining: it's another NJ instead of a PEG-J.
February 18: day 200 in the hospital. Old photo but taken during this hospitalization. Oh look, she's standing. On her own. With no walker or wheelchair in the frame, and no one there to grab her if she starts to go down. Almost like she can use her legs or something.
February 20: Tubed, bridled.
February 23: allowed to go home for a night. Gets wine and pizza. Miss "I can't keep my meds or even a sip of water down." Don't worry, she insists she's vomiting and in pain and paying for it but it was sooooo worth it.

February 28: still losing weight even with her NJ tube. Had no problem finding a fatty area to inject something into while she was showing off her meds at home.
March 1: out of the hospital again. Drinks hard cider (but she vomited profusely!!) and dances (wheelchair style!!) and gets her hair bleached on a whim (but don't get her wrong, it's still a while before she can be discharged!!) Goes back to the hospital looking drunk af. i'm sure all the meds she takes play really well with alcohol.

March 2: the literal next day, she's got this. Tubie pad is around a subq for some reason. (Gonna guess she bought tubie pads thinking she was going to get a surgical feeding tube, then they refused to do the surgery so she's using them to decorate her subq caths.) Also antibiotic-resistant bacteria has colonized her kidneys and bladder.
March 3: she's now officially diagnosed with autism and she's not ashamed!!
March 4: "When you and you bestie get to bond over our autism spectrum disorders, gastro problems, mobility problems and of course our new hair cuts" This girl is also fishing for the GP/EDS/POTS combo while swigging vodka and living a very active life. Paige is still vomiting everything and that gross thing on her stomach keeps getting bigger so now they're stopping her blood thinners.
March 6; home again and of course, booze. And Starbucks. It made her very ill!!! she vomited everything up!!!

March 7: she's still home, still complaining that she can keep nothing down and she's positively wasting away. Also posts this photo.
Looks pretty robust for someone who has been starving to death for months
March 8: back at the hospital, immediate crisis. Doesn't explain. Love that collar pulled askew to show the tubie pad inexplicably wrapped around a subq.
March 9: "body isn't happy" and needs oxygen and nebulizer treatments. Flashing that tubie pad on her subq again.
March 13: 4 days without an NJ having "vomited it up" again.
March 16: two attention whores go to a fair. In case you didn't notice her less successful munchie friend has a fucking GOOSE in that stroller thing. Like, her pet goose. Because she didn't have a wheelchair and tubes to get attention with?
March 17: claims she and goose girl both have EDS and GP. Goose Girl is not diagnosed with either of these things. She just insists she has them while doctors say she's fine, lol.
March 20: nose hose is back and bridled, now practicing transferring because her legs don't work.
March 21: Nose hose "failed", reinserted, "failed" again. The darn thing keeps coiling in her stomach all on its own.
March 25: nose hose back, Paige sad.
March 31: Home vs. hospital. Love how she chapped up her lips to make her look extra sick. Also looks like she was tugging on her nose hose.

April 4: superbug attacks
April 6: infection is now spread through her arms, abdomen, chest..
April 7: out of hospital vs. in hospital

April 8: out of hospital vs. in hospital. Why the fuck does this hospital keep letting her go out on day trips?

April 14: out of hospital... "painted a smile on my face even though I felt like crap"

April 15: in hospital
April 19: complains about infections taking over her body. Brags about having special permission to do all her own IV medications. It's a true mystery why this keeps happening to her.
April 21: you know the drill

April 27-28: 48 hours home. Starts tagging #metabolicdisorder out of nowhere and also makes this booboo seem like it is her body just falling apart.

May 3: "I totally didn't bang my head on something until I bled because I'm crazy as fuck. No it was a low hanging branch I accidentally hit while slowly rolling in my manual wheelchair. And my tube that I need because despite my chipmunk cheeks and obvious weight gain I am STARVING TO DEATH just mysteriously coiled in my stomach again." Loses the sad sick face when Goose Girl comes to play.

May 5: 267 days. Admission date by this calculation: August 11, 2018.
May 9: another NJ tube to fuck with. Claims general anesthesia gives her PTSD flashbacks (wut)
May 12: home
May 13: "here indefinitely with no end in sight". Day 276. Admission date by this calculation: August 10, 2018. Now claiming 8 bouts of sepsis during this stay.
May 16: home, and her brother has autism too, guys!
May 19: NJ tube "flipped into her stomach"

May 22: NJ tube back and bridled because they know she's doing this on purpose. This is her third replacement in two days and it's already "kinked" by the time she posts the photo.
May 24: back again, bridled again
May 25: might have sepsis again
May 27: another new NJ, weight has been plummeting for weeks, hinting at sepsis again. Day 297. Date of admission: August 3, 2018.
May 28: Deep veiiiiin thrombosis
May 29: original caption on this photo was "Something clearly medical happened last night that involved removing my shirt, ecg stickers, an arterial blood test, a couple new lines, plasters everywhere and a constant blood pressure cuff and pulse rate monitor

and i cant for the life of me remember what happened. My only other clue is mcdonalds sitting next to me and the text i sent my sister in the afternoon asking her to bring me some" So... NJ, can't even keep down meds or tolerate my feeds, but ate McDonalds. And remembers nothing of whatever this emergency was. Sounds like ambien tbh. Day 300.
May 30: suprapubic piss-tube surgery, yet another tube to fuck with when she's already harboring superbugs and fighting multiple concurrent infections and blood clots.

May 31: fucking with the bandages.
June 2: crash cart I guess? Had "a moment of being unresponsive" but was fine to 'gram it. this was, of course, right after returning from a day out with Goose Girl.
June 3: piss tube wound is all fucked up. Wonder why.
June 7: piss tube gore
June 12; might have sepsis. Really trying for that 9th bout. Extremely fucked up piss tube.

June 19: various superbugs infecting parts of her body and more blood clots.
June 27: sepsis and fucked up her PICC that is delivering her life-saving IV antibiotics.
July 2: Ahhhh I love sad sleeping selfies. And another nose hose meets an untimely end at the hands of Paige Donovan-Smith
July 5: replaced, puked up immediately.
July 6: another broken PICC
July 9: new PICC, looks like the actual access port is up on her shoulder and what's that I see? Another cast she refused to answer any questions about. Who wants to place bets the other one kept her from bending at the elbow or wrist, so she couldn't rub one of those superbugs in this picc?
July 11: lost 6kg in a week. That's 13 lbs to us yankees. Begging for a PEGJ again
July 12: this poor emaciated child was allowed out of the hospital after beating sepsis for the 9th time.
July 15: announces sepsis #10 just in time for her birthday, complete with yet another broken PICC and another NJ she immediately puked up.
July 16: another new PICC with another shoulder statlock and a strategically positioned sweater or blanket that would hide another cast if there was one...
July 17: Yep, arm splints. No explanation given again. Am I missing something here? Also, another NJ
July 20: birthday in the hospital eating McDonalds (she vomited it up though!!!) and taking off her arm splints when she feels like it then putting them back on for photo ops. Day 350 in the hospital.

July 25: became totally responsive, blown pupils, almost brought to ICU, but she got better in time to 'gram it
July 28: reflects on her year in the hospital, giving an admission date of August 3, 2018, the day she was "rushed into resus". Since then she has had "Over 20 IDCs placed, 10 PICC lines, countless IVs and subcuts, 100s of clexan injections, 21 NJ placements, intubations and more...Developing so, so many UTIs, bladder, kidney, chest, skin, throat infections, also pneumonias, meningitis, influenza B, loss of use of my legs, 10 bouts of sepsis and the chronic illnesses i already came in with." Sounds like a great way to spend your early 20s. Posts a photo from when she was still spoopy
july 31: a retrospective view of all the times she broke her wrists as a teenager, saying these were clear signs of EDS. Also tries to blame the mystery casts from her early admission on EDS-related problems. Then because she is dying from acute lack of emergencies, decides to yank on her piss tube a bit until she totally fucked it up.

August 3: reflects on a year in the hospital and all the efforts to save her life that she shamelessly sabotaged over and over again

August 11: "my SPC is bleeding constantly still!!" Is on high doses of anticoagulants and won't stop fucking with it. Now it's infected with abx-resistent pathogens
August 17: incoming gastroparesis flare, not tolerating her feeds
August 19: my god. Please let this be like Kelly's legs, where it just keeps getting worse and she steadfastly refuses to die forever.
August 20: another abscess in her chest and also a UTI
August 23: there is something so perverse about that Mickey Mouse tubie pad on her infected piss tube
August 27: has ESBL and KB infections on her SPC site. I don't know what those are but I'm gonna guess "bad". She's also not tolerating her feeds and running a high fever and developing a respiratory infection. So naturalyl they let her go home for 48 hours because what could possibly go wrong?
September 3: "nicked an artery" with her subq line holy shit
September 8: So they let her go home again because she clearly does not need to be kept in a locked ward under supervision. And while she was away, her artery site got infected.
September 9: and her SPC looked like this when she got back
September 10: giant abscess where her artery was "nicked" and now her blood sugar is crashing and she had to go to resus last night
September 12: and now she has abscesses on both sides of her chest.
Sepember 18: now that her entire body is colonized by antibiotic resistant "superbugs" she's discharged to a new facility for "quality of life" care and pain management. In other words, they've given up trying to save someone who wants to die.
September 22: free from constant medical supervision she JESUS FUCKING CHRIST ON A DICK
September 26: day 3 at the new place, goes to a clinic and has piss and pus extracted from her body, she now says there is a patch of black necrotic flesh surrounded by blisters on her chest.
September 27: back in the hospital.
October 1: pus-pockets on her chest drained, cleaned, and packed with gauze.
October 3: pus pockets now constantly bleeding
October 9: she's bffs with the staff at her new place and now can eat pizza and whatever that second photo is. I'm sure the fact that she's high as hell on painkillers has nothing to do with it.

October 12: despite all these infections, she's only on painkillers and no antibiotics, because her gross infections laugh in the face of even the strongest antibiotics.
October 18: hope they're not chlorine resistant. I'm sure it's totally a good idea for her to be swimming in a public pool right now.
October 19: has the flu and a temperature of 40º C (104º in Freedom Units)
October 24: "puked up" her NJ again. Definitely going to die from malnutrition now.
October 29: SPC gone, indwelling catheter in after she "accidentally" fell and ripped her SPC out. Again. Old pic. She doesn't have a new NJ yet
October 31: happy halloween! the pink thing is covering up flesh-eating bacteria. Spooooooky!
And so we come to the end of our journey for now: no NJ, no SPC, flesh-eating bacteria, multiple antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria growing on her, probably not actually 10 bouts of sepsis but at least a few, and one batshit crazy munchie who should just be left to die at this point, who is currently tempting Vibrio by swimming in the ocean with multiple infected, open wounds and an immune system that couldn't fight off a kitten right now.
