I don't watch Spoony's streams but from what I've read he's been engaged and upbeat, even though he looks like shit and his Twitter is utterly the inverse.

I see this thread less beating a dead horse and more archival. Just like Chris Chans thread. We have discussion of Noah and even speculate on his well being but, if nothing else I could see this more as a thread for someone to read over to get frankly more info than anywhere else. To some it may be beating a dead horse but to me, I think what we're doing is a good thing on a very VERY small scale for internet culture. Does that sound too pretentious? Ah well.

Mister Metokur actually used some of my screencaps in his video about Spoony so at least the man's tweets are of value to someone.

In May 2012, Spoony made a crass BDSM joke about JesuOtaku on Twitter and some time later got into an argument with Obscurus Lupa over it which ignited a shitstorm of drama that sucked in much of TGWTG's greater fandom and caused Noah to spend weeks lashing out and self-flagellating in an embarrassing and unstable fashion. The events ultimately led Channel Awesome to fire him the following month, after which Noah issued an apology and revealed that he suffered from previously undiagnosed bipolar II disorder. The aftermath of this incident also marked where his content output began to permanently slow down.

Yep, Lupa waited until he was in a bad head space (tweeting about how depressed he was before it became standard) and decided that was the perfect time to bring up the joke. Chapman actually was okay with it.

Maybe it sounds too much like a stupid conspiracy theory but the timing, plus what we know of Allison, makes me wonder if it was planned.

Nah, there was plenty of shit before that. Like when Noah sperged about X COM, which resulted in Lord Kat losing the opportunity to talk to Notch. His response was furious, but as far as I know he was in a very bad life situation back then.Who's laughing now?

Its not a conspiracy theory when all signs point to them legit being too coordinated with their shit. Anyone I have ever asked has said the same thing, that it was too convenient a time to bring it up for it to not seem sussy.

I mean wouldnt you be furious if you had an opportunity to sky rocket your career and then get fucked because your shitty drunk coworker couldnt be out of character for 5 minutes?

You sure about him being out of character at that moment? Noah's chimpouts always seemed genuine. James Rolfe and AVGN I can seperate, but Spoony/Noah's pretty much chocolate and chocolate swirl to me.

And yes, if my career would be guillotined by my spastic friend's reeeing I'd sock him at least once before leaving. Not saying it was Noah's intention to impede Jason's PR, but if you pretend to be a /vg lobby hotshot you should know better than to cause any kind of scandal at game conventions.

I don't know, man. Sky rocket by just talking to Notch to most likely never see him again? I doubt it would have changed much, but yeah, I would be mad. The problem is, Jason's reaction made him look worse than he claimed Noah was and he regrets about it now. It wasn't the first time though, before that Noah came uninvited to the stream of Jason and his friends and started shit with them.

As for "Lupa caused 9/11" - nah, I don't think so. Her original late reaction was not anything new, she's drama whore and always been one. You have to be a 5D space chess master to predict that Noah will be THIS spergy, because some bitch from his job unfollowed him on Twitter. But as for firing him... Scarlet and their then HR had a suspicious exchange after that. Although it could be interpreted as "hahaha, you have fired this loser! - yeah, fuck him! - love you", not as "hah, just as planned! - yep, love you! - love you too!".

Noah should know that video game journalism is not a bubble that will ignore what others in your group have done. Its like if someone from Screwattack did the same thing. They would fuck up so much. Then again its Noah im sure he probably doesnt care about keeping up an image.

If anything, he was proud of it. He desperately tried to make it a huge meme and made clips of it a running gag in his reviews. Just remembering the first part of the Ultima 9 review makes me cringe. I had no idea about the drama over it at the time - I always assumed it was some staged thing because at the time, I believed Noah to be capable of an ounce of professionalism. Now, looking back at it, knowing what I know, it almost feels like he was rubbing it in Jason's face.

Not that I mind, exactly. That dude is an asshole and went waaaaaay too far and loves blaming other people for his problems. He's a dramawhore himself. Still, it, like pretty much everything else these days, makes Noah look like a piece of shit, too.
