As I recall, Miles is the younger one and would see less of a need in carrying his older sibling's arse than if the generations were reversed. Miles has probably tried tirelessly to help Spoony both mentally and financially, but as you said humans can only take SO much before we have to just leave the person to his own filth. Miles has too much on his own plate to worry about to actually give a shit about what Noah does states away. He probably loves his brother immensely but, love doesnt not equal an infinite well of support.

As for April its obvious shes there because she'd rather be "on her own" than with her own family. Though I have mentioned that it seems like something more is going on besides what we see. They could maybe have gotten some extra source of income, maybe they are getting benefits? Or shit worse, Spoony could have very well gotten a tugboat we arent aware of. Though I would think it funnier if they got a 3rd roommate we dont know about. But, I think there is just a case of Occams razor in the case that April just rather live with this guy whos barely ever out of his room anyway, so she basically has the house to herself and do whatever she wants. I dont think they are even together at this point. I think Spoony has turned into a somehow sadder version of Todd in the Shadows. I think they simply know they live in the same place and thats it. Hell it seems like April has pretty much taken Oreo as her own at this point to. The woman has not only taken all mention of him off Twitter, but she hasnt posted about him in seemingly months. (Unless she has and just deleted some tweets we dont see).

As an added note : she also has had some evidence of her going to fairs and such with another guy, so take that as you will.

While I was witnessing Joel of Vinesauce's playthrough of Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh, I decided to go back to watch Spoony's playthrough of the game.

Boy, that was fucking cringe beyond belief. Maybe I've grown up or developed some sense of human decency or both, but the only parts I ever thought was funny were the pop culture jokes, and even then, Spoony uses that entirely as his crutch because has no sense of humor outside of outdated 2000s smartass snark. Everything else was fucking incessant whining about how "durr dis game is shit because the programmers are shitty and the content is bad". Vinesauce was funnier by like fucking kilometers into the fucking sky because of how Joel was able to just interject his own ingenuity and silly fun into the mix without making the game sound as if it was fucking unbearable. No one finds whiny nerd yelling and whining funny, and I hope Spoony's little descent into madness is just his subconscious having a psychic breakdown with a great deal of self awareness.

If anything, Spoony and That Guy With The Glasses has become the poster orphanage bastard children for everything that was wrong about the mid 2000s boom of "angry internet reviewers": shitty hack ass actors with shitty ass tastes born from being spoiled to shit from years of being breastfed from trust fund mommies and daddies with shitty real life personalities who can't do anything right about internet reviewing and entertainment worth shit.

Of course, in this world, everyone's a critic. To state out of this, "I'd rather slurp shit oozing out of a hyena's dysentry infested asshole than watch anything of Spoony's ever again." But at least, I know I don't rip people off to make them see me act like a fucking sperg at the cost of my time, dignity, and integrity as a person for what is little than other than a glorified display of my own two cents.

Spoony's playthrough was also chock-a-block full of MST3K-style humor (punchy cultural references meant to poke fun, as you put it), and some jokes were lifted wholesale from that show, which was why I liked it so much when I first saw it. I thought to myself, "YES, this guy is witty and intelligent, applying a tried-and-true formula to a new medium!" and fuck was I wrong. Call it youthful ignorance or just starving for better content on the internet at the time but to my eyes Spoony benefited in huge ways from there being literally no better game in town when he was at his peak.

Now he's working against both his own issues and the fact that the internet entertainment market is now absolutely flooded with content, such that if you want to make it you need to be truly exceptional (in either the real or wordfiltered sense, or shit, ¿porque no los dos?) or lucky as fuck to genuinely make it long-term. Not a good position to be in, the back of the pack and still trying to run the same race. Switch it up, Noah. This ain't for you anymore.

ETA: I'll admit, though: "I HEARD THAT, CURTIS" still gets a laugh out of me.

I kinda liked that part where he "drops the act" so to say and starts talking about how much the series meant to him. Probably the last time you really see him passionate about something. Near the end he does go a bit overboard I'll agree, but just him quietly talking about playing the series with his brother and how it helped him learn to read and foster his later interests like D&D, it kinda hits you in the feels. Just a complete waste on how he turned out from that point.

I liked that part too, where it's like all jokes and theatrics aside, this game really WAS a slap to his face for many reasons.

The problem is that in retrospect, I don't know if him punching and slamming down the box is an exaggerated statement or his bipolar lowest caught on camera. Same as how his post-breakup drunk meltdown riffing Twilight and powerleveling about Scarlett's blowjobs is impossible to rewatch after his tweet chains.

So years back, Oprah made the hilariously stupid decision to give Lindsay Lohan $2million for a reality miniseries about her post rehab life. Lohan was provided everything - a personal assistant, a life coach, a sober coach, an apartment - you name it. All she was required to do was show up on time for photoshoots and literal 3 hour gigs she would be paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for. She ended up showing up EIGHT HOURS late for a photoshoot that depended on natural light. She was also offered a meeting with some huge exec at Paramount in LA and she... missed it. Keep in mind, this is after seven stints in rehab, after box office bomb after box office bomb, tons of arrests, being nigh-uninsurable. And she couldn't show up to a 2 hour meeting. She literally had Oprah get in her face and tell her to get her shit together. There was this point where the photographer from Elle Indonesia (whose photoshoot she was late to) came out of it and said, "After this, I am going straight home to my daughter and telling her 'don't waste your life.'"

Why am I bringing this up? Because Spoony is basically the Lindsay Lohan of game reviewers. Substitute some of her crazy with his laziness: that's Noah. The only reason he isn't stalking random refugee families yelling " Don't fuck with Pakistan!" Is because he's too lazy.

Take a person who was moderately talented (though not nearly as talented as people claimed), success way too early, still being defined by their success from over a decade ago. Constantly making excuses for their failings, continually letting people down and fucking up peoples' shit, not showing up to things. Both were totally beloved and now held in utter disdain. Both look way older than they actually are. All Noah is missing is the God-awful parents and the bad cosmetic surgery.

I interviewed Brad Jones a couple years ago. We were having a good time, joking about internet drama. He was still tight with Allison at the time and I asked about her, he was joking. Then Spoony came up. You should have heard how awkward it suddenly got. Wish I still had the interview because it was a thing to hear. Just awkward mumbles about Spoony.

You can tell he's just let a lot of people down. And he's just wasted his life. Go to the doctor, Spoony. And stop wasting your life.

I have BP II and when I am depressed, I am basically Spoony - can barely summon the will to so much as turn my head when my neck aches. Manic days - I write twenty thousand words and knit a hat and tear my body apart at the gym. He seems to have really lost the "manic" part of manic depressive. I don't doubt that he has some sort of disorder but sometimes I suspect that he's been misdiagnosed.

His bursts of activity have grown further apart over the years. At first it was a slide from edited review content into live streams and blogs, then exclusively into live streams and Twitter and now he only streams in bursts every few months on average while short absences from Twitter have become more frequent. He's also become increasingly vocal about his state of mind this past year, even just randomly tagging his former peers for attention in recent weeks.
