Victor Mignogna v. Funimation Productions, LLC, et al. (2019) - Vic's lawsuit against Funimation, VAs, and others, for over a million dollars.

No. He's already been present for a hearing; apparently at least one true new lawyer may be coming in.
If Vic ends up hiring three new lawyers, I guess I can't make fun of MoRon's exceptional lawyer army anymore.

Seriously though, good for Vic. I think hiring additional counsel might be a good idea. That way mistakes, like the ones in Ty's TCPA filing, are less likely to happen.
Watch lawtwitter spin this as vic firing BHBH.

We can make fun of Ty though.

Considering it sounds like he's a bit...tied up.

Okay, I'll take my leave.

He really thinks he's getting a payday that simply eeeh?

Funny how the rest of the scummy lawyers are rooting for this and not for the man that has his name dragged through the mud.
That's the exact amount of the GFM right now. He seriously thinks he's going to take it.

It may not be likely but wouldn't it be entertaining if Lemon's motions are countered by a TCPA MTD from Vic. It seems to me that an argument could be made that they are retaliatory and intended to suppress Vic's right to petition. How much fun would that be...

Sec. 27.003. MOTION TO DISMISS. (a) If a legal action is based on or is in response to a party's exercise of the right of free speech, right to petition, or right of association [...] that party may file a motion to dismiss the legal action.

Thats good to hear. Appeals courts are super finicky and this shit heap created by Chupp and Lemoine will require an experienced hand to unpack

You can make a compelling argument that all Anti-SLAPP laws violate the first amendment. People always remember the first four rights; speech, religion, press, and assembly. For some reason the fifth one, "Right to Petition for redress of grievances" gets overlooked. I can't even think of any major case law that even addresses that one. It was always a given as if you were in court you were already exercising that right so there was no point in bringing it up.

But with the proliferation of these Anti-SLAPP laws a forced mediation clauses in contracts we may see one in the coming years.

It's funny. My brain refuses to acknowledge that just happened. I called it, from day 1 I was firmly on the camp that said Lemoine was definitely going there. I knew this was going to happen. But it still makes my brain hurt. Like even though THEORETICALLY that was the ending the scientific side of my mind concluded would be the logical end to this, but now the rest of my mind has realized it really was going there in practice and it just can't process how fucking delusional that braindamaged manlet is. Is anyone else going through this? Is this what grief feels like? Is this the last shrivel of my faith for humanity dying? I need answers I know I can't ever get.

Could Chupp have thought that ruling in favor of Vic would cost him the next election because he would get smeared with "Judge Chupp rules in favour of sexual predator's coverup"?
Well if he did he was a moron because ruling against him is at this point almost assured to cost him the next ellection if he doesn't run unopposed because you damn well bet the internet's gonna plaster his face with negative adds when it comes. I can already see the slogan: "Vote for X. Because literally ANYONE would be better than Chupp."

Lemoine is fucking insane and MoRon is probably grateful that they have an attorney that's so obsessed with that pot of gold.

I think the next election is a few years away. Long enough that people would have forgotten about it unless Grigsby drug it back up.
