If I could pick one thing for society get through it’s collective fucking skull, it would be the fact that a single out-of-context comment on the internet means jack shit.

And even multiple comments should be treated with skepticism, since the people posting are anonymous and you can’t know their motives. Trolling does not take a lot of effort, and there’s a vast difference between a the hatred required for a credible threat and some glazed eye fucko posting from the toilet without even flinching.

People need a higher standard of evidence, and yet we’ve been doing this dance since Gamergate.

It's unprofessional, clownish, and should be discouraged. It is an attempt to use material not in evidence or cited as an exhibit, and not subject to rules of admissibility, in order to improperly influence the trier of fact. If it's an exhibit put it in the exhibits and fucking cite to it.

That's one of the things I wondered about back during the hearing when they were whining about context. If someone includes a link to a live document but doesn't properly enter the screenshot as evidence, and it's challenged, can't you claim the live version as context?

Ty could claim they had no proof that t-shirt was evidence of a "game" mentality. To argue against that, they'd need to pull some video to prove it... but if they're allowed to do that, then surely BHBH should have been allowed to introduce the context of Ron's and Jaime's defaming tweets back during the hearing, when the defense claimed there was no proof the tweets were about Vic.

Granted this screenshot is a stupid molehill to fight over, but lack of context to some Internet artifact got the claims tossed a mere month ago.

I have never seen a court document use a screenshot in the stead of legal argument before. I've heard of some court documents using them inline to supplement an argument, and I've even heard of some court documents using poems during their initial filings, but never this.

As for the hourly rate he refers to in his text:

Between 275-515 pr hour. I like that last line "The rate I used is the rate I agreed to charge the defendants".
Instead he could just have said : The defendants contracted me for 275 pr hour. Just to make it clear.

In their billing it also says:
