Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Can't remember if it was Nick that said it, or someone here, but Marchi's lawyer has no feasible way to justify a colossal sum like Lemonfag and funi. He's a very small lawyer, doesn't cost much.
well he would have worked a giant amount of Hours doing everything himself.

Oh my lord I need to crosspost this image from the lawsuit thread, yet again credit to @Much Ado About Nothing, fucking Lem*SadTromboneNoises* is literally accusing Nick of being a Kiwi.

Also btw hi lemoine, mosquito chan says she's sorry west nile chan didn't finish the job and hopes you'll come back to her for round two.
I can only imagine the horror on the face of the poor person that has to click that link and see that there's over 3000 pages of autism. It's amazing how salty they are about the farms still that they keep mentioning it.

Gave it a listen, seemed pretty decent for an outside perspective. Some brief highlights:
  • Vic may have had a decent case, but Ty fucked it up hard at critical times to the point of possibly qualifying for malpractice
  • The TI and Defamation claims against Toye are definitely the strongest, but Ty completely fumbled the ball with the notary shit and the amended pleading.
  • Ty seems generally incompetent with the above incident, as well as wasting time on Nick's streams and running around in circles trying to get Toye to confirm his tweets, when Ty should have just said "is there any reason for you to think these *aren't* your tweets", get a no as a response, and move on
  • Chupp clearly wrote out his ruling while sitting on the shitter for how brief and conclusory it was. The facts that he didn't cite any cases and misspelled "liability" suggest this.
  • Nick seems to be competent when it comes to black letter interpretation of law, but not experienced with the practice. They cite a stream where Nick said the structure of the TCPA hearing itself could be appealed - where in the real world trial judges tend to do whatever the fuck they want when it comes to the structure of hearings because they consider themselves the kings/queens of the court
  • Vic's reputation has been shit for years based on their independent research, so even if he's completely in the right it's harder to look good making the arguments. They say he's arguably defamation proof because of how long his reputation has been like this.
  • This case is clearly being used by groups like KF and Lawtwitter to fight the culture war. If someone wanted to legally fight against #metoo and cancel culture, they should pick a squeaky clean person who was wrongfully damaged, not someone like Vic
  • Whether or not Vic is innocent, they point out that the current ruling sets a dangerous precedent - that any innocent person can get their life ruined, bring petitions to the courts, and get immediately shut down with no real consideration for any evidence involved
  • The general consensus from the guys is that the appeal will probably end up not working out, but they equally wouldn't be surprised if some of it (especially the shit on Toye) got successfully appealed and brought back to trial. They do note that if it goes back to trial, they think Vic's case is fucked because of the dirt the defense will be able to dig up about him.
  • Lawtwitter is particularly stupid, and apparently they've gotten death threats and dox threats from Lawtwitter speds
  • Everyone who is involved in this mess of a case is incredibly fuckin stupid, and while it has been entertaining they partly regret ever looking at this burning shitheap
I listened to it too. I'm not sure if I can agree that Vic would have been better off just by laying low and taking it in the ass (and not even in the Greek way mind you). I also have to question their "independent" research given, as @Nontransferable correctly noted, Vic was still part of the cool kids club until the smear campaign started in February. I'm not sure how unsubstantiated rumors can render one as libel proof, at least within in the civilized world.

I would not be surprised if they turn out to be 100% correct on Ty. While I did compare him with Sargon, as in not being nearly as smart as he thinks he is, I want to state that if Ty fucks up the appeals too, he'll officially have an even worse track record than Kevin Landau.

Come on boys, say Hi to Lemwaaah.
Truth is out, we are all Rekieta, let me grab my Fireball for a swig in order to celebrate that.

They tell us that
We lost our tails
Evolving up
From little snails
I say it's all
Just wind in sails

Are we not men?
We are Rekita!

Wait...that doesn't fit. (Apologies to DEVO)

And yet is worth twice as much as any of the rest of them. The rest of them are a fucking joke.

At least they understand the consequences of this jackassery.

I doubt they did any research or their definition of "reliable source" includes PULL and Tumblr which is how we got into this fucking mess to begin with.

Regards to Ron and his deposition, I think the point was to hammer home that Ron was lying. Somehow forgetting 400 tweets when he spent hours tweeting and replying is unlikely. Hell, Ron even said "I was under attack for weeks." Why was he under attack? The Vic situation. Yet somehow he forgot he started it?

Nick is Alpharius.

Ty CAN'T fuck up the appeals. Because he's not handling them at all. Others pointed out he has a gargantuan property case coming up so he's way too busy to handle it himself, plus, it seems he realized he needed someone with more experience dealing with Chupp. (And I say Chupp because most of the "mistakes" ty "made" from the hearing were just Chupp throwing all his evidence out by refusing his folder, which is just straight up appealable in itself, and then demanding way bigger of a standard of evidence that what TCPA asks for, Ty didn't fuck up, Chupp did, and unless the appeals court is filled with braindamaged crazy people they'll see that immediately.) We already knew of the appeals specialist he hired for the last hearing, then he got this guy that specifically has a ton of experience appealing chupp specifically and apparently a massive hateboner for mosquito brain, and now the lawsuit thread has linked to a third lawyer brought in. Fucker has called the imperial inquisition he's taken off the reigns.

I'm curious as to what their "independent research" process was. Cause the farms did their own independent research and we couldn't find any credible sources for any of the shit Vic has supposedly done. For all his time in the american anime scene, the worst things written about Vic were relegated to forums, tumblrs, and other blogs. At worst was ANN giving him shit for being Christian. It was only this year until anything with substance actually came out and stuck. And that substance seems very shallow for a supposed sexual predator preying on the anime community for years.

I doubt it'd matter. You won't find better autists to dig through it.
