I think I know a way it may not be bullshit.

Assuming my ultimate nightmare prediction does not come to pass, they will spread the word of Luke on wi-fi to all corners of the galaxy in the hours/minutes before the First Order moves to wipe them out....and right before the end comes the rest of the galaxy sends a massive armada of ships that saves them having suddenly been inspired en-masse by Rey's beautiful speech to fight against the Nu-Empire* all under the leadership of Lando which is where his shots from the trailer come from.

Each of the ships will be from the prequel trilogy, original trilogy, nu-EU and some will be from upcoming star wars projects for maximum nostalgia bait and cinematic universe shilling. It will be spun as an homage to the end of Pellanor Fields/Helms Deep from Lord of the Rings and will probably have totally-not-shill critics compare it favourably to the end of Endgame

Thats whats going to happen. I am like 90% sure of it. The "spread the word" leak keeps popping up and this seems like the most obvious fucking way of nostalgia fapping an end to the story.

Kids' shows really got fucked because both idiots on Right and Left obsessed on them. The Right was really retarded about seeing secret occult messages in shit. They'd throw tantrums about some character using black magic or pentagrams and they always left out the part that it was the VILLAIN doing these things. The Left had a bunch of post-Vietnam hippies that demanded that characters talk out their differences and never throw a punch.

Sometimes I feel like those pussified cartoons where nobody ever got hurt or died and always had a happy ending each episode are part of what's wrong with my generation. I can see why anime was such a breath of fresh air and our mostly-shitty domestic product deserved to get shoved aside.

As to Finn/Rose getting retconned, I think that might have more to do with appeasing Finn/Poe shippers than the Chinese.

I guess the reason for that is that at the start of all reboots in the past couple years someone said "How about we just remake that one popular thing from some time ago?"
It's absolutely uninspired, cynical corporate cash grabs. No inspiration, no big, creative ideas, just a desire to obtain money as cheaply as possible.

When you make a new movie, you have to built up hype and the brand recognition. If you just grab an old title, that already has brand recognition, you save a lot of money.
And when you reboot or remake the original, you already have your basic script outline. You can steal iconic scenes and redo them (looking at the horrible GitS movie with Scarlett Johansen).

So after Bungie leaves Microsoft after the prequel Halo Reach, 343 Studios is put in charge, and in charge of it they chose Bonnie Ross, who could very well have been related to Kathleen Kennedy
The initial warning signs is that a lot of the lore is now being delivered through books, people of course get worried and ask if they have to read all the books to get the story in the main game, they're told it's not necessary, of course this is later proven to be a falsehood.
Their first title, Halo 4, receives generally well acclaim, although some of the older fans dislike the direction the series have taken, the designs are different, characters have a bit different personalities, and the gameplay and multiplayer is a lot less refined than earlier titles. Most criticisms are answered with that such issues will be fixed in the next installment.
Then comes Halo 5, and its an absolute trainwreck, supposedly ruining several characters, no one cares about the black spartan, who barely has a personality, the story is a mess, and generally the ad campaign for it was heavily misleading. The backlash wasn't as poorly received by the media and developers as that of the Last jedi, but there definitely were voices saying that the only reason people didn't like Halo 5 is because they're backwards and dumb.
Generally the Halo fandom regards the new trilogy as a serious misstep, and the upcoming game is heavily relying on nostagia for the original games to power the hype, ditching a lot of the new designs and areas in exchange for familiar sights

It does seem that they're doing better at actually listening to fans so I'm actually cautiously optimistic for infinite. But 343 is still in charge so I'm prepared for the worst.
