Game Grumps could actually be a serious company. I realize it's a bit of a joke, but some of these businesses are worth a lot of money. Disney bought Maker Studios a few years back for (allegedly) somewhere between $500 million and $1.2 billion dollars - the numbers are there. Game Grumps does, despite Arin's best effort, have a targetable and trackable audience. It is, technically speaking, a successful brand.
Him running as a business isn't my problem, it's just how badly he does it and how little he has to show for it.
He's got like 26 people on payroll and his studio only manages to push out ~30 minutes of content a day, or maybe ~3 hours a week of content. That's really, really low and each employee contributes so little it's shocking that they're able to stay afloat. This is way more than any other YT channel I can think and it's shocking given thier size (which I'd suggest is medium, they're a big channel but not the biggest by any stretch) and that even channels larger than theirs are more fiscally conservative.
