Bug! Lag!" are just to excuse his consistent poor performance and head legitimate criticism and mockery off at the pass.
To me that always just read as deflection. It's really easy to blame a bunch of people you don't know and you're sure won't show up to call you on your bullshit, and to me he tugs on emotions he knows (or believes) his audience is familiar with. Every person who plays games has had a "dat's bullshit dood!" moment, even if we don't want to admit it, and Phil is very good at getting people to sympathize and agree with him, or at least people who are very easily fooled and led around, and those are the people he cares about because those are the people who give him money.

But no, he repeats himself ad nauseum, every single day, then proceeds to take a bathroom break afterwards every time.
It's literally because he's sulking like the miserable child he emotionally is and hates that he's about to play some games; Pig fucking despises playing games because Pig hates having to potentially fuck up and he especially hates doing anything remotely resembling work. Pig don't care about getting new viewers; he only wants his puny cult of honest to god idiots (in the medical sense) to keep flinging money at him, even if their SSI is drained and their Walmart money can't stretch anymore. No money, then he has no use for 'em.
