Agreed. This whole thing has a disturbing air of something that's heavily sexualized, yet infantilized. Babies and sex should never mix, so when I see what is essentially a pack of mental two year olds tantrumming because a studio failed to deliver the exact kind of masturbation material that they wanted, it gives me pause. It makes me wonder if we shouldn't put a moratorium on cartoons aimed at teens and preteens until the current generation of youngsters can sort its shit out. People shouldn't be threatening suicide and/or murder because a digitally rendered prettyboy in a show they're binge-watching on Netflix didn't touch dicks with the specific, digitally-rendered prettyboy that they wanted him to.

I blame the easier access to creators on social media more than creators trying to add diversity. The latter can be done really badly (see: SPOP) but even when it works, fans can and will throw tantrums and the creators being more accessible to the fans makes them easy targets. I get con appearances, but if I were LM and JDS I would keep my social media accounts private to everyone but my working relationships. No fans allowed.

Eh, I can certainly see the prospect ship tease between them and it's VERY easy to see Keith as actually being in love with Shiro. Tell that to the fangirls, however. That's how it was in the 80's version. Sven/Shiro is basically the uncle ben of the series. The older leader that dies so the younger characters have to grow up and change with him. And that's where VLD problems really get started.

Shiro was supposed to die again but Dreamworks execs wouldnt let them. Also what happened with Adam getting zero characterization and barely mentioned being gay. It's kind of funny, Dreamworks Execs made a bunch of choices that the writers took the heat of from the fandom. It's almost sad, but the writers probably should have seen this coming.
