C'mon, you know better than to believe the troon squad. Singal made the mistake of publishing a well-researched article that didn't 100% embrace troon ideology, and then attempting to civilly discuss the disagreements with people like Katelyn Burns - who promptly lied about their interactions, and then when he posted the receipts, forced the places like Medium that displayed said receipts to take them down.
He's too sympathetic towards troons - not just those rare legitimate trans people, but troons - and somehow still naive about how much they hate him, but he's at least increasingly willing to make public just what bullshit they're spreading and, more importantly, who specifically is spreading it. Which has included a specific callout of Jake, which means, naturally, despite Jake accusing him of rape and murder and even worse, transphobia, makes Jake the victim.
The impression I get of Singal is that he's just lefty enough and logic-based enough to think that, if he could just talk to these people and explain, if they could have a proper conversation, they'd come to a mutual understanding. He's taking way too long to accept that there are people out there who wish him dead and will spread all the lies to try and destroy him they can, and that nothing he will ever say, no pointing out where they are incorrect, or rumour-mongering, or lying, will ever do anything other than make them hate him more.
Perhaps as a reaction to the troon attacks he's gone too far to try and be fair to them, to be scrupulous in interpreting their words and motives charitably. He needs to get it through his thick skull that he's not dealing with reasonable, rational people, and that they have no motive to stop trying to destroy him because it makes them feel good to try and do so.
