I had to look these up because I don't watch a lot of dubs, but notably:
1) She's marmalade about another VA in what is essentially a tiny microcosm of voice acting. It's pathetic, just like 95% of the people involved in this whole thing, and 2) who the fuck wouldn't be jealous of Tom Brady? How does surpass him by a clear margin, actually be Bruce Wayne?
I'm just saying that they can both be successful and one still be jealous of the other. I don't know that I really buy the jealousy angle for Monica, but it's entirely possible. More like (for Monica) in my opinion is "he's cheating on our friend" or "he's screwing the 'wrong' person" and thus retaliation. I could believe Jamie jumped on board for jealousy, but that seems weird for Monica as a motivating factor. Not impossible, just weird, but then all these people are weird, so who knows.
Monica isn't jealous because of the difference in roles, she is jealous because of the difference in fanbase.

I get that, I was just answering a question posed about what major roles she had that weren't retreads. Just saying in the anime circle she actually does have a good resume. The only reason I don't really see the fanbase angle is, that's been true for a while. Now I can make all sorts of arguments in favor of it, people have said that Monica's fanbase is in decline and they worried that Broly was going to reinvigorate Vic's. I would say considering the anime convention scene, Vic's fanbase is strong because he is one of the very few people that has actively worked to keep it strong. Like many celebrities are popular when they're in a lot of current things, but then decline as their roles dry up or get smaller. Vic is one of those people that put a lot of effort into maintaining his relationship with fans. Now, you can put forth insidious reasons for that or say he burned other bridges while doing it, but that is what it is. A lot of other voice actors just reap the rewards of having a role without really caring if the fans of X show still love it and them 5 years from now because they'll move on to other roles. It's pretty telling that Vic has a fanclub that has it's own identity.
