This is proof of why Vic can't just drop the lawsuit before discovery. He has to appeal because now that idiots think it's 'over', they're literally going right back to full time defaming him like they did before he announced he was going to sue. For all that fake confidence, all how they welcomed court to show the truth (which they somehow simultaneously claim was a lawsuit that nearly ruined them and was designed to silence them) they shut up and actually had to put effort into making up their fake stories.
Mind, this kind of pointless rumor won't do anything on its own, because its existed since 2010 and has never done Vic any serious harm, but coupled with the defendants defaming him and committing TI in private with all his venues, it gives this stupid smokescreen substance to the casual observer. "They keep tweeting about how Vic did a bad thing in 2010 and then that venue canceled him (unrelated, because Funimation made it do so), that must mean there's unknown information verifying this and we need to cancel/not book him, too."
These kinds of ridiculous rumors rely on the reader not being familiar with conventions or how they're run - and in some of these fanfictions, it's likely the writer themselves isn't even familiar with cons and con hotels (Vic constantly being places without a handler, massively popular cons being deserted at high times and traffic points, Vic vanishing for HOURS when he would have multiple panels and signings to do that day, but no one in the convention noticing this except staff, etc)
It seems we're back to the ridiculous and unbelievable rumor stories that require one to actively avoid thinking. Like when Meepygal tried to edit and chop of the video of her interview with Vic Mignogna to make a man who could barely stand up straight after 7 hours of signing - and was desperately trying to carry an awkward failure of an interview - into a creeper who kept sniffing her and clinging to her on camera.
When you insist on screaming "NOT EVERYTHING IS A CONSPIRACY" it just makes you sound like you're saying "STOP LOOKING CLOSELY, I DON'T WANT YOU TO NOTICE US CONSPIRING."
Also, seriously. Conventions are full of wild, drunk people looking to have fun and loose people who are 10 billion percent ready to have sex with the voice actors of their favorite characters. Someone like @EriMin would have to confirm or deconfirm how often handlers actually have to shoo away overly hopeful fans hoping to get some, but even if all the fans respect the consent of the VAs they crush on
