It's an OC and a fucking alien or something, god forbid every female character isn't fap material... Doesn't belong in this thread.
Yeah I don't think we can count that as a female bruh even masculine females don't look as ugly as that thing examples include: Zara (Overwatch), Undyne (Undertale), Jasper (Steven Universe) etc. Those are masculine women that don't look like a man or some gross thing

I still stand by my opinion. I don't think every non-human female character has to be traditionally feminine looking by human standards. Makes shit more varied and interesting. We've seen like 3 million alien chicks which are just bodypainted-pretty-woman-with-a-barely-noticeable-face-prothesis -type.
That aside, there are some issues with the design; namely the contrast between the bright red spots and the rest of the colours. Red should be more muted, now it's just cluttered. Same with the wrinkle lines. When the drawing is simplified and there's absolutely no line thickness variation, only the most prominent wrinkles should be drawn. Again, makes it easier to "read".

But this isn't an art critique thread. To keep on topic, have a homosuck:

I didn't know Homestuck had amputated werewolf Hartley hooligans

"Wendyl" DOESN'T exist. She just dressed like a boy to fuck with Cartman. Of course, Tumblr ignores that little tidbit.
I bring her up since in The Fractured But Whole, if you count that as canon, Wendy’s character sheet says uh....something. The words mean something and I’m not entirely sure what.

I think if ANY character were to identify as non-binary, it would be her. Definitely not Stan.

People probably already mentioned that its possible to create appealing western artwork. I want to add that cartoons have this advantage that anime doesn't have which is the ability to show more emotion and receive more 'empathy' from the audience.

It has to do with cartoons being based by the realistic human traits. The easier way to see this imo is comparing their kid cartoon shows (pre calarts) and how they animate/show things. Though both are simplified, most cartoons will show every zit/booger on a character or anything 'unpleasant' as well as detailing them. Anime on the other hand will be more 'cutesy' in their nature. Even if they have those snot drops on sick characters, it'll mostly be just a flat symbol.

To go back to the main point, the audience can feel more empathy/emotion because those cartoon characters have more connection to reality than anime. Now of course that doesn't mean anime is bad or some other extreme idea that wasn't put any thought into, anime does have its benefits that cartoons don't have. Its hard to describe, but its good at "superficial" beauty and the prettiness/idealistic fantasies. Best example to describe it is the 'chuuni' trope common in anime; like those cool fight scenes/explosions characters do with their 10 ton swords wielded by anime highschooler #3242, the stories are shallow as a YA novel, but it 'makes up for it' or focuses on the visual impression (which one you think its trying to do is up to your own conclusions).
For example in the intro scene of Up by Pixar if you were to redraw the characters in the standard anime style, its easier to cry in the cartoon one because we have more of a familiarity in it (from the reality/realism we are constantly in contact with). If this wasn't a universal human thing, then live-action dramas etc. wouldn't exist in Japan etc.

The anime vs cartoon debate is null due to the preferences of the audience. And of course there can be anime out there that does a good job of conveying human emotions vice versa or other rare cases; I think its more of the two mediums doing their best when they can exploit their advantages and serve their purposes. Also this does not mean that anime is worthless because its escapist/superficial too; both can (and must) exist, and focus on their audiences who can freely switch around from what they want to watch, as well as letting creators decide wtf they want to do at the end (or how much they want to pursue money vs quality)

To clarify ugly features or "realistic" features does not mean you will get that audience empathy automatically. More fat folds =/= more emotion, like art and life you have to make logical decisions in your artwork including balancing realistic vs idealistic and orchestrating it to a good middle ground of something pleasing to look at.

Do you guys have any feedback on this because I'm curious mostly of what everyone else thinks. I posted something like this on /ic/ when sperging years back but I never received a legitimate response. I was always on the middle part of "I like both west and east shit" in those debates but never thought deep into it until now.

I'm agree with your non-human female point, but holy shit her art is ugly. And the government thing is just worsening the situation.

This is actually kind of funny because most of the kids that tumblr usually applies alphabet soup identities to have their gender as cis and their orientation as straight. (craig and tweek are listed as gay). So if they accept Wendy as genderspecial because of the character profiles they have to admit that Kyle canonically doesn't take it up the butt.

The witch of taking up too much space
Joking aside, I have a question for you guys, or maybe it could be the next poll since vitiligo has falled out of style--
Do you think these people actually believe their headcanons?
Does the artist of this piece really picture in their mind that Jade is a morbidly obese indian bearded lady?

How much of this is woke points and how much is delusion?

I don't even know what that is or where it's from, but a decade or two ago this would have passed as a goofy doodle meant to mock or insult someone. Now's an ideal moment to draw everyone you don't like as the most hideous ogre you can imagine and be unironically praised for it.
